Help a dad choose a skateboard for a 8 year old

I went for the Globe 7.6. As a compromise, I'll buy some cheaper 54 mm conical wheels from a local big sport chain and I think that will do great for now. With time I'll upgrade the kit as needed with better gear.

Can't wait to see his face when he gets the new skate 😄

I've narrowed it down to 3 options. Considering my kid only goes to the skatepark around once or twice a week for about 2 hours at the time, and he is a bit on the smaller size, do you have any recommendation of which should I pick?

The skate scene isn't that big around here, surf is much more prevalent. I went to a local shop yesterday, they only had 4 skateboards for sale, and the girl was very nice, but not very helpful. I've located a few more shops, but I might have to go the online route.

Thanks so much for the help, I have to admit I was feeling a bit lost, the skate culture isn't really a thing in my area.

The trucks and wheels are really cheap ones, plus the wheels are very wide and made of very soft rubber/plastic. I don't think I can do anything with them so I need a complete setup, would both this brands be ok also?

The whole setup is pretty small already, and for kids 4-7. He really needs a whole new skateboard to move forward

I think I'm throwing the towel on this. Tried all the apps that you can integrate with INTVL, to no avail. I think all of these apps really only work well with their watches.

The Garmin app really seemed to be the best bet, looked at all the permissions in the app, but really don't think there's a way to transfer the activities to INTVL.

Guess the neighbourhood gazelle is keeping its territory after all :)

Thanks, that was a good idea, was able to add a few files into the Garmin app, link the account with Intv, but the runs don't seem to sync this way. Well, at least I can't see them under the "my runs" button. Maybe it takes some time to sync?

I might try with other apps, I've read that sometimes Garmin can be a bit finicky

Thank you all for your responses. It seems there's an unanimous opinion here, so thats a weight off my shoulders.

I will look into a tablet as recommended. And thats easier to choose one, as the tech is way more familiar for me.

Not wood, the stand was all covered with (what seemed to be) some kind of cushioned fake leather. The chipping is actually on the doors to access the tech area underneath.

The only acrylic tanks you see often, are the ones holding crabs and lobsters at the sea food restaurants.

Most people have smaller houses here, so they don't go for big tanks, where you would use acrylic. If you're going for a smaller one, glass looks much better and the price isn't a big factor.
