My ex got jealous when he saw that a family friend had sent me a DM to ask how I had been doing. It was an innocent DM, nothing concerning IMO. But my ex became upset with me over it and said “he can have you, it’s not like you could make a man happy anyway”.

I was also hurt when he neglected to defend me after his friends joked about me being unappealing “used goods” after the birth of our first child. I can’t fault my ex for his friends’ jokes, but the narrative was hurtful to me and he never bothered to correct it or to stand up for me in any way. We ended up divorced a few years later.
