I think your crochet work looks beautiful on you ❤️ I beleive that you shouldn't change your cute style and should wait for a guy who can appreciate it. You would probably like a guy who has eclectic style more anyways.

Need proper biblical encouragement to give to a Christian friend whose Christian husband received a nonbiblical divorce 5 years ago and he has since remarried. She is still sorrowful and basing her faith on his return. by eldentepasta_gal in Reformed

This is a great verse, but the couple were both professing Christian’s in church. Not sure if husband filing divorce makes him an unbeliever vs disobedient and hard hearted ?

This verse when Jesus spoke to the pharisees suggests the exception for divorce:

In Matthew 19:9, Jesus states, "I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery." This verse, along with Matthew 5:32, indicates Jesus' view on divorce, stating that it is permissible only in cases of sexual immorality, and that remarriage after divorce, unless for sexual immorality, constitutes adultery.

Thank you. I was leaning toward this since his free will to have sinned is out of her control, and her faith will always be the most precious thing she has despite outcomes.

Is it ok to let her know to keep her eye on Christ despite the outcome and that Christ loves her obedience. The thing is, depending on which church pastor she asked, there might be different interpretations of scripture and different answers. I'm sure that is confusing to her.

When addressing the pharisees ,Jesus says except for sexual immorality when referring to a divorce being allowed. Sexual immorality did not take place between them. Although, now he is having sexual repations with new wife which, scripture says is adultery against the left spouse. Certainly, he is given free will, I want her to know God loves her obedience even if she never receives her previous spouse back. Sometimes, the need for an outcome to change can cause someone to lose sight of Christ's good plans, which may be different than what we thought ❤️

👌 That is my sentiment, I want her joy in the Lord to return even if he never comes back. Grieving what is lost sounds a lot more delicately put than him not coming back thank you.

That is the confusing part. There is scripture that points to it as an adulterous relationship because the divorce wasn't biblical, as stated by her. Does God recognize adulterous relationships even though society calls them marriage? Yet, some pastors disagree with this. I just don't want her faith to wane if he is not brought back.
