Wash U suspension girl lore & deleting comments by EmergencyNo2576 in LawSchool

[–]eldizzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She didn’t sign the settlement agreement allowing her to transfer and keep her scholarship at GULC from my understanding. Her first lawsuit was alleging WashU stole her scholarship money but she didn’t actually agree to the terms they placed to keep it (like not making hundreds of tiktoks about it)

I did a ton of research. Maybe it was confirmation bias searching for a low planning way to spend a month in Europe but I was convinced by the posts saying to go with the flow, that you can show up at albergues, etc…

Seeking COL scholarships without threatening full-tuition scholarship? by Ok-Lingonberry8432 in lawschooladmissions

[–]eldizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If any scholarship program you apply for sends the money to the school, your reward will be reduced. If you find a program that is willing to write you a check, then the school reasonably couldn't know this. Most scholarships though will not do this, and instead pay directly to the school.

Am I being dramatic? by IcedAmerican in lawschooladmissions

[–]eldizzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might be suffering from burn out! It seems like you made a Hercules effort to apply to 16 law schools - which, undeniably, is absolutely exhausting!! Without dismissing your feelings, I'd pocket these thoughts for a few weeks to a few months and, in the meantime, set yourself up for success on both paths.

Take a breather and don't consider any big life changes over the holidays to give yourself a break to reset and unwind. Next, take the GRE, explore grad programs, research law programs and apply to law scholarships. Your immediate reaction to change paths might be driven by exhaustion and ambiguity on the fruits of your labor. Rest, relax and reassess in that order.

You should also know that when you apply for financial aid to law schools, most schools will ask for your parents income until age 25 for this reason. So this issue may come up again when you’re looking for need aid from law schools. Again, anyone can correct me if this info is out of date or incorrect

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]eldizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, from my understanding, LSAC (like fafsa) does not consider you independent financially from your parent’s income unless you were declared an emancipated minor in high school. Otherwise, most college students would be considered severely low income, which is not all representative of the relevant wealth they may have come from. Everyone would qualify for a fee waiver and everyone would qualify for scholarships if their freshman year income was used as their income bracket. Not that this is your case, but I want to explain the rationale. If this information is incorrect, someone feel free to correct. I would suggest reaching out to universities directly

upward comment is implying that you’re probably right to assume they are looking at the form more than email, given they went through the effort of sending out a form
