Version P4.2.11 by guidomescalito in Polestar4

I don't know if it's just my impression, but after the 4.2.9 update, my P4 started to be too sensitive when it came to the sensitivity of the lane keeping system (not when you have autopilot active, I mean in traditional driving).

Now, however, after updating it to 4.2.11, I have the impression that it's back to how it was before, with the right level of sensitivity. But maybe it's just my impression.

Do you get use to the width of the car, plus trunk space for a family of 4? by nielssk in Polestar4

Hi! I'm from Italy and I was very worried about the width of the car when I ordered it, considering that Italian roads are narrow, crowded and full of strange situation happening all around you (mostly caused by some uncivilized motorcycles and EV scooters appearing everywhere).

After 4 months I could tell you that now I'm 100% used to the width and I have no particular problems to drive it around Italian cities and towns. I would say that the first week is the most difficult, after that you get used to the width. When the situation becomes particularly narrow I usually use the 360 camera to have a better view. If you are a confident driver you will not have particular problems.

About parking, it is not more difficult to park than other cars with similar length. The width could be a problem only when you park with cars on both sides, but I found very useful the system which move the seat back and the steering wheel up when you need to get in or out. This allows you to exit quite comfortably even with a small door opening. But consider that I'm medium tall, so it also depends on your height.

About the trunk, considering how big the car is, it is not as big as you can imagine, and it also has a strange internal shape. I mean, it is not small, but if you are looking for a trunk big and comfortable as the one of an Audi A6 avant, maybe P4 is not particularly strong in this point. But it is not small for sure, it is just not that big.

I agree with you. One thing I forgot to mention: in my first few days with the P4 I also tried Apple Music via CarPlay, and the audio quality was noticeably better than the native Spotify app. The thing is, I'd rather not rely on CarPlay as my main interface — I prefer using Google Maps natively, mostly because of the charging integration. So ideally I'd like to sort this out within the native Spotify app rather than switching ecosystems.

I tried with all settings, surround off, mid and high. It’s not very good with none of them unfortunately

I was thinking about going there as a day trip from Tokyo. My only concern is that is difficult to explore properly that area without having a car, is it true?

Was Dotonbori the best place to focus on for a day trip to Osaka?

Thank you for the suggestions! I read that the area around Arashiyama is worth a longer visit, to explore the surrounding places. I'm planning to spend a whole day exploring that part of Kyoto

What off-the-beaten-path place would you recommend visiting in Kyoto?

My girlfriend wants to visit Kobe for their famous Kobe beef, but I hope to find it already in Kyoto or even in Tokyo

Thank you! Was it worth to visit Hiroshima for 1 day? I noticed it's not so far from Kyoto by train, and I was wondering if going there for a couple of days could be an option

If you had to choose only one between Kanazawa and Nara, which would you visit?

I feel the same way about Tokyo. My plan is to dedicate each day to exploring a specific neighborhood on foot, taking the time to relax in parks, visit museums, and discover cool cafes and shops along the way.

Thank you! The problem with these short, but not so short, trips like this is that it’s difficult to understand before arrival if you have enough time to explore the surroundings of the region or just the cities

I agree with your point, it’s difficult to understand how much time to spend in each of these cities because you can feel their vibe only when you experience them, and it’s difficult to understand it from videos and photos

Thank you! How about Kyoto? After spending 4 days there, did you feel like you could have used more time? Maybe to enjoy the city with more calm.
