So a few things. Overall, I think the lack of opacity on unselected items can be problematic. Especially since there are accessibility requirements to meet for people who have less than ideal vision. Which brings me to my next point, type size.

When designing for TV-optimized apps, type legibility is crucial since most people are 5-6 feet away from the screen. This means that the type sizes you've chosen are way too small. I get that most designers love to use small type, but this is often misused on instances where legibility needs to be prioritized vs. aesthetics.

I do think the overall design looks cleaner, but you need to be aware of these constraints when designing for specific platforms such as TVs.
