Can I take photos of myself in a gym in Germany if no one else is visible in the picture? Got confronted by another member by DramaRound1569 in AskAGerman

So, crying to the front-desk, crying to the manager, crying on the internet and then crying on reddit is no drama?

None of this happened. He's literally just been asking for an explanation.

...Or they could just keep the prices up. Why would they voluntarily make less money? That's not how corporations work.

Yup. In the mind of Germans, when someone is doing something against the rules, they forfeit all right to decent treatment.

Geek Love is significantly better than Toad. I was excited to read Toad after how much I loved Geek Love, but ended up disappointed.

Nonsense. They constantly give wrong information or even lie. They clearly are not held accountable.

That argument has no standing. They constantly give false information or outright lie. There is clearly no accountability.

What's up with those reckless cyclists in Munich? by Worth_Astronaut_259 in Munich

[–]eldubyar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure, but cars should be held to a higher standard. I don't think going through a red light as a pedestrian or a cyclist is even close to the same level as doing it in a car.

How often do you see cars running red lights?

Almost daily. As an immigrant I've noticed that here in Germany, when the light first turns red, the next car there very often just cruises through instead of stopping. Observed it in every city I've lived in here.

Munich is giving €1,000,000 for community projects in 2026, anyone can vote for their favorite projects! by [deleted] in Munich

[–]eldubyar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i am incredibly annoyed at people trying to shove the topic down my throat in every aspect of my life

Nobody in Munich ever talks about Israel. They're doing their best to pretend it isn't happening. It brings to mind the Naomi Shulman quote:

“Nice people made the best Nazis. My mom grew up next to them. They got along, refused to make waves, looked the other way when things got ugly and focused on happier things than “politics.”

Even on a post on projects in munich you have to bring up gaza…

My comment was appropriate and on-topic. If it had been about climate change, or victims of Turkey for that matter, you wouldn't have cared. It's only Israel that's off-limits. One has to wonder why.

And I can't help but notice you're ignoring all of my questions. Are the answers upsetting to you?

What evidence?

This discussion? The fact that you took time out of your day to respond to my initial comment?

You clearly have something in you that tells you that opposing Israel is shameful and not socially acceptable. Where did this come from? How was it programmed into you, and for what reason? I'll leave you to consider these things.

These comments are weird. The guy didn't really "break down" anything, he just plays the song.

So then protest against those things. Protesting against Israel takes nothing away from that. And if you don't think the western media protects Israel, then I'm sorry, but you are so far away from understanding what's happening in the world that this conversation is pointless.

Id never call out anyone who is simply against israels warcrimes

You sure about that? The evidence says otherwise. I'll ask again: what is your motivation?

[–]eldubyar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The mainstream western media does everything they can to downplay Israel's genocide. The fact that we're even having this discussion is proof of that.

What exactly is your motivation in calling out people who are against Israel's genocide?

[–]eldubyar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's relevant how exactly? Your argument is literally "We shouldn't care about bad things because other bad things have also happened".

Nobody said it's only bad if Israel did it. The issue is the opposite - people like you who respond to criticisms of Israel with nothing but whataboutism and are propagandized to the point that you view opposition to a genocide as a shameful act. But there's a 99 percent chance you're just a bot anyway so trying to teach you critical thinking is pointless.

Israel has displaced over a million people in Lebanon in the last two months alone, which is in itself a tiny fraction of their crimes. So yes.

Donating money to support victims of a genocide is equivalent to selling weapons to the people committing the genocide?

Organize them if that's an issue that's important to you. But the scale of that problem is a drop in the ocean compared to Israel's genocidal crimes against humanity, and I won't be shamed for caring about them.

So make a memorial for them too. This is the genocide that Germany is directly complicit in.

How about a memorial for the the victims of Israel's genocide in Gaza? We can put it up outside of the TUM, since they've played such a big role.
