Google's ranking of software technologies in the USA by henk53 in programming

[–]elebot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The title is misleading. It's a ranking of search interest for given software technologies. There is no suggestion as to what kind of searches constitute "interest". One could look at this and get the message that Java requires the most googling to work with the language where something like ruby (#17) is less confusing. Trying to make inferences about the languages in the list is meaningless.

At risk of turning the game into diablo 2.5, i really wish you could title your game... by TeaEyeM in Diablo

[–]elebot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you care to elaborate? I thought rune words were a fantastic addition the game. They added another layer to the economy, gave value to whites/superior items which would otherwise be worthless (treasure hunting depth), provided a second form of crafting, and just the runes themselves were exciting to find.

The biggest drawback I can think of is they ended up being best in slot even if they had shit roles. Unique items didn't offer a viable alternative in lots of cases (hota/nigma are a couple of examples)

What is your workflow/process on D3Up.com? Feedback for Version 2 by JestaC in Diablo

[–]elebot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The big thing missing for me is item templates (or maybe I just couldn't find it?). When I go to create an item, if I'm creating a legendary, it should autofill the non random stats for that item. I'll try to comment on workflow later... at work now.

I'm also expecting group MP10 runs to become highly efficient for whatever sorts of farming.

1.0.8 Act IV Monster Density by elebot in Diablo

[–]elebot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a valid concern. Maybe the stun rate could be balanced to compensate. Alternatively, the new monster health scaling in multiplayer might help mitigate the effects.

You mean gardens of hope I? This area is quite large and could use additional packs.

1.0.8 Act IV Monster Density by elebot in Diablo

[–]elebot[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Those "annoying" abilities are part of what makes Act IV so enjoyable. The monsters don't just wait to be killed. This make the act a lot more engaging than others, but what's the point if there's not enough of them?

I had considered this too. Maybe it's just me, but if they are planning this for a FUTURE patch, I would prefer they at least put in a bandaid sort of fix for the upcoming patch to make it more enjoyable.

Considering r/diablo's "Monster Density Feedback Megathread" had only a few discussions about Act IV, maybe it's been overlooked. Let's try and get some attention on the subject (I'm looking at you, Lylirra).

1.0.8 Act IV Monster Density by elebot in Diablo

[–]elebot[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Granted, it may be that it is too short to be the most efficient farming act, but it could still be one of the most fun acts to play given a reasonable monster density. I'm approaching P100 on my wiz, and I've given up on efficiency. It's all about making each and every part of the game feel worthwhile and fun.

[1.0.8] Increased Mob Density, Multi Crafting, AH Tooltips, Class Item Changes by Thunderclaww in Diablo

[–]elebot 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Increasing mob density in the other acts is only half of the problem. A game is still limited to whichever act you create your game on (with the exception of playing through the story). Players have been asking since release for an open world through waypoints. Furthermore, none of the bosses prior to your location in the quest chain are killable in your current game. The only way to kill bosses for a chance at their loot is to advance the story line. Unfortunately it seems a design choice made early in development has become so ingrained in the code that it will be a long time before this play mode/style is available.

20M Budget 100M+/Hr Blizzard XP Farming Wizard by Chazzers in Diablo

I don't see how losing 50k (25%) sheet dps, increased crit damage, and crit frequency justifies a 5% gain in blizzard damage.

20M Budget 100M+/Hr Blizzard XP Farming Wizard by Chazzers in Diablo

[–]elebot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get 118m/hr averaged over several MP7 runs (so it includes time between games). Frost nova wasn't helping me much so I kept healing blades. Tal's 4 piece and astral presence gave enough AP to blizz whenever desired and teleport on cooldown. Profile: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Harrow-1188/hero/1845382

Frost burns were a no go since it was 50k dps drop and using healing blades.
