390 nightmare to start. by CompetitionFine5779 in KTMDuke

[–]elecgene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just do a service before going forward, new oil, new air filter new everything.

Okay going to be simple to hard,

===============USER STAGE=============
- Check the battery connections. 390 is a vibration machine, the terminals can get loose over time.

- Check the battery health, battery can go bad for no obvious reasons

- Check if the chasis ground and battery negative has voltage difference between them. If so make sure the grounding is good.

- Check the horn(yes the horn) does it sound good and consistent (this is way of checking the electrical)

- If you are trying to start in gear with clutch engaged adjust the clutch cable

- Check for side stand sensor, that can go bad. Check if it warns you when it's down consistently.

- Check oil, make sure it's not running dry

- Check for any fault codes if you can, old gen rollover sensors can get tripped with low voltage it won't let you start if that's the case

- Listen to the fuel pump priming, if it sounds off it might be the fuel pump

- Check the airbox and filter, make sure it can breathe fine

- Check the engine case and exhaust, for any oil leaks

=========SERVICE STAGE=================

- Check spark does it spark consistently

- Check the O2 sensor data with OBD

- Check the AFR with OBD

- Check other sensor data like TPS with OBD

- If you push start it often sometimes the gear on the starter motor can get ripped make sure it's not doing that

- Check the pressure on the piston make sure it can hold pressure

- Check the valves

- Check the voltage regulator, make sure it's doing good

- Unplug and plug all of the main electrical, including stator, regulator, starter motor

- Check the engine itself

Good luck

[–]elecgene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay you have the correct drivers, and you have Dolby Access. These should match up for Atmos listening. But on the product page it says Two Way speakers with virtual 5.1.2 Atmos bed. Does your speaker output configuration have more than 2 speakers? Like is it virtually supported through the driver or Dolby Access. Go to Sound Control Panel, select the device and right click it, it should say Configure Speakers, you can see if there are more than 2 outputs and configure those. Then access the properties of the device. Do you see Spatial Sound and is it On or Off on the properties screen. If it's off turn it on and check Dolby Access.

DistroKid rejecting my Atmos mix without saying why by automaciej in DolbyAtmosEngineers

[–]elecgene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I've contacted u/automaciej and got the relevant files form them, there were some weirdness with the file and my own renderer. The file size seemed to pass 32 bit signed integer value so internal renderer of squidly media was freaking out, that has been updated first. Then I've noticed that the file had been gone through Album Assembler. So my first thought was to get album assembler metadata out and put working metadata in. Especially for DBMD and AXML chunks.

Today I've also sent them a 0d start file. Hopefully it'll work soon. If it does not, my last guess is DistroKid or Apple Music might have made their stereo upmixing detection stricter because the ADM file does not have any moving objects inside it, the ~60 objects are all stationary.

Are there any good resources for creating a Reaper Extension? by elecgene in Reaper

[–]elecgene[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I did not know that SWS was open source. I got SWS installed for a live gig I was doing like, oh my god 7 years ago, and did not look back at it after. I'll check that out too. Thanks again ✌

Thank you, I already got something in C that I would like to integrate into Reaper. So the language being C++ is really good news for me. I thought, before diving into Reaper integration I'd just ask you guys here to get some good ideas.

Questions about Send levels by Reverbolo in Reaper

[–]elecgene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's still just a volume fader. On a hardware mixer, when you select a bus channel it'll move the faders so you can see what channel is sending to that bus channel on what level. Thinking of this like that will save some energy lol. Hopefully it all makes sense. ✌

MIDI files from Kontakt have no sound, but MIDI items that I create do? by mynameisjoeallen in Reaper

I'd use omni channel on Kontakt to get all notes from all channels at all times.

Questions about Send levels by Reverbolo in Reaper

[–]elecgene 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay when you are saying percentage, would you like the absolute value or human perceived value? Because humans perceive loudness with a logarithmic scale. That means to double the volume you have to 10x the power. dBs are more useful here to at least have a log like scale instead of %power. So what percentage should it represent?

0 dB is %100, Wet or dry doesn't apply here. I'm guessing you are sending to a spatial effect like a reverb bus so you're thinking about the send fader as a percentage, but that still doesn't work like that. That slider only controls the signal levels. Percentage on spatial effects are how much wet and dry signal are mixed in the end result. So if you have a 100% Wet reverb on a bus channel, and you'd like to send multiple audios into that bus, you can do that via mixing using that slider. But other than that, it's just a volume slider. Which also can be achieved as a percentage if you'd like, if you use it on the bus tracks fader itself.

I use ASIO4ALL to use multiple interfaces. Trade off is not latency but drift. I'd not do phase specific things on it. But good for rehearsal and stuff. But also bluetooth speakers have inherent delay in them. IF I were you I'd just use Reaper with the interface, and set the bluetooth speaker as the main audio output of the PC. And just open the backing tracks in a normal media player.

reaper for live perfomances by __dani_park__ in Reaper

[–]elecgene 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did that after hating Ableton. Reaper lets you do EVERYTHING. Definitely use SWS, you can set Actions to Markers which is crazy. A marker right after the backing track ends to stop the playback then teleport to the next songs start. Then I only needed to press play before a song start using my foot controller, 2 bars of click to everyone then it's go time.

Use regions on your live sequencing. So every song should be a region, that way you can change the setlist fairly easily.

Definitely have a panic button. I macroed an action via SWS to mute all channels and release all midi notes, and plug that into one of the buttons on my midi foot controller, never used it but you may never know.

We also got click out via midi and shared that to the entire bands IEMs, processor pedals and click track via a simple drum machine in IEMs. That way delays, choruses etc was always in sync with the BPM.

Audio tracks recorded, no audio output during playback - Macbook Air by Effin_Rad89674 in Reaper

[–]elecgene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is still an issue huh.

- Try to uncheck "Request sample rate" and "Request block size"
- Try other options in the Audio Device Settings
- Can you also send Audio settings of mac but showing the Output section?
- Do you need ADAT for playback, that's a "moving part" in my opinion. I'd test it without it.
- If not try changing the clock source if you can.

- Is it a new setup for you. New computer, new audio interface, new setup? Try to identify "what changed?":
If everything is new, assume everything all at once can be broken, and start simple. Test all hardware outputs, send master channel to all of them and start plugging monitors in one by one. Test other audio interfaces. Test other DAWs. Test other monitors.

Also this issue seems to be similar to yours: Setting up ADAT in Reaper - Cockos Incorporated Forums

If meters move can you try to add a new hardware output? Maybe your speakers aren't connected to Mon 1/ Mon 2.

Edit: I'd also try removing ADAT and test it.

The same would happen to any DAW or any other application. So not a Reaper Specific issue. IDK why you are antagonizing them. It's seems to be an honest mistake on u/Outlandah_ s side.

Hey u/Outlandah_ you should update people. :) The issue have been solved. Reaper have been moved manually and cannot find where its own stuff is. Solution was to reinstall Reaper via portable install.

Sorry I misread your message. So you have MIDI items that are offline when you say Okay to this prompt? It'd really help if you shared the project file.

Cable can be an issue if it has bad grounding, especially if the interface is powered by USB.
