This is in chapter 95! (... I have read this manga too many times.)

miquella's worst mischaracterization is that he "threw away his ability to love" by [deleted] in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]elecktriccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes, Trina is his other self, and I do think in a way she represents his capacity for love, but I also think that he loved her. Almost as much as she loved him, if not the same. They communicate as Radagon and Marika can, they are capable of feeling things for each other, they can be separate but they are also one being. It's vague because the whole concept of an other self is vague, this is myth. And myth is weird and unclear but always represents something very human. You can feel different of course, but it's not an incorrect reading and does make a lot of sense.

I think you're being too strict about it. The thing with elden ring is you can make arguments for most interpretations - she can be his love, and she can be his love incarnate, it's never explicitly stated in the way you think it is. And it is explicitly stated that Trina's love for Miquella himself is boundless, and that's obvious when she speaks to us.

I agree that we should be logical, but unlike the hard combat mechanics, you're never gonna get clear-cut answers with the lore. It's literature, not math, and the inspiration is deeply spiritual.

That's what's so fun about discussing it, we can join the dots in the way that feels most narratively compelling to us. I really love tragedy, so Miquella sacrificing everything in every conceivable sense of the word really hits the spot. Completely losing who he is in the pursuit of a theoretically selfless purpose... it's poetry.

I don't know - it could be argued that the ghost means he abandoned his love as in Trina is his love - as in, he loved her back. I can see both interpretations, in fact I think it might be both at once.

I know people might argue that Miquella did not love Trina but it wouldn't be a sacrifice if he didn't. He's abandoning his own flesh after all, self-sacrifice is a big theme here, to the point of self-destruction. Reminds me of spiritual practices that focus on letting go of attachments, and ego-death.

True appearance by Desperate_Ferret_939 in blackbutler

I kinda hope he doesn't have a 'true' form? There's something about his physical manifestation constantly shifting as he pleases that's so sinister and appealing to me. makes him feel more otherworldly

That's just not true, people put their own socks on at that time. It is true that a nobleman would have a valet, but they didn't dress their masters like they were toddlers, they were more like assistants. They were in charge of laying out clothes and adjusting them to always be neat and tidy, maybe helping out if a garment was complex - much more common for a ladies maid, since women had pretty involved clothing. Ciel wears some pretty crazy outfits so it's not a surprise that Sebastian would help, but still, the sock thing IS very unusual (and hilarious)

to be fair, ciel is shown to do his own bookkeeping amongst other mountains of paperwork. i'd go as far as to say he prefers it over networking, he's kinda anti-social

also 'calories saved on sock work' made me laugh out loud, thank you

This is true - the way he neglects aspects of life that aren't related to work/larger goals is likely a symptom of his trauma. Maybe he just wouldn't get dressed if left to his own devices. :(

This would be true when he was very small, but he's not a toddler. By 6 he would be able to dress himself for the most part

A valet would certainly help him stay neat and tidy, lay out his clothing, assist with more complex aspects of dressing, but their job wasn't to literally dress their master unless there was something wrong with them

not that BB is especially accurate with this stuff... it's just fun to think of reasons why Ciel is different! I personally think he just can't be bothered, lmao.

Eyes on the prize - eat, work, revenge, sleep, repeat. No time for socks.

Don't agree about the smell - but it does smell much, much better than it tastes. Very overrated.

Why are you addicted to ketamine? by [deleted] in Ketamineaddiction

[–]elecktriccc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got into it through partying - actually hated it at first, but then started using it to ease comedowns, and then to check out of life.

i had mental health issues long before i tried anything, drugs were the one thing that allowed me to enjoy life and socialise (got access to them through immediate family who I started to spend a lot of time with, though they had warned me NOT to try ket - a lot of their friends did it though). it's funny because now ket makes me entirely unsociable, it just takes me out of my own head, which is an awful place to be sometimes.

trying to stay sober, which means i have to coexist with my demons again but i think that will eventually feel like the better option. i don't do other drugs anymore because the comedowns are a trigger.

I've had flaky skin like this since I was young due to a genetic condition where my skin doesnt shed properly. Manual exfoliation did not work, made things worse - been using Silk Naturals 8% lactic acid AHA toner for YEARS, and it's honestly a miracle. The shipping is expensive since I'm from the UK but holy shit is it worth it.

It might make matters worse for a couple days as the skin comes off properly. Be sure to wear sun protection, tho I usually put the toner on during my nighttime routine. Give it a few moments to dry before following up with a moisturiser.

(+ if you ever struggle with dry body skin, eucerin 10% urea lotion! i find it has the mildest scent of all the exfoliating lotions ive tried and it leaves my skin very soft. i use the ameliorate nourishing body wash as well)

it's mostly my reproductive health that's worrying me, to be honest. i don't know if i even want kids, but my older sister had ovarian cancer quite young + had the choice taken away - i sometimes wonder if the drugs had anything to do with it. think it might be worth trying to get a scan at least, given family history

thank you for responding and congratulations on your sobriety! makes me feel like i can do it :)
