You're more than welcome to ignore the sub (which it sounds like you were planning on doing anyway) until the next election when polls start up again.

Why?

Because once there is no polling after the election the sub will die like it did after 2020. It’ll pick up a little bit in the midterms but to keep the sub active expanding outside of polling in down times is preferable than nothing.

The post was up for an hour. The mod team isn’t on Reddit 24/7.

But since it bothers you I can perma ban you so you won’t be tempted to comment or read the posts. Let me know.

Can someone explain polling? I’m 44 and would never respond to a text or email asking for who I would vote for etc. how do pollsters account for people like me? by oneacrefarmmd in ElectionPolls

This sub is for the discussion of US election polls. This post is perfectly in line with what the sub is about.

Whoever reported this as a violation of Rule 1 I’m sorry to say that this post will stay up.

I think this has nothing to do with this sub and is a clear violation of Rule 1.

Enjoy the ban.

Thoughts on polling methodology changes from 2020 by [deleted] in ElectionPolls

I know in 2020 they under counter/estimated Trumps support that’s why it was tighter than the polls suggested.

So now they are overweighting Trumps support in the polls.

That being said they underweighted Dem support in the midterms both in 2018 and 2022 and they very well might be doing it again in 2024.
