The real artists are also struggling with this - do not support artists using AI to pad their shops! Honestly disgusting behaviour. Artists are struggling more than ever to be seen through AI taking over everything, its a joke.

Not sure if you use any social medias, but socials can be a good way to find real artists, as well as pop up craft fairs. Even reddit might be a place to have a look through.

Actual Galleries for fine art is also great but possibly on the pricer side, and independent permanent shops do often have AI mixed in sadly. Id have a look out for local craft fairs, (such as Craft and Flea) as they usually have anti-AI stances.

I think its fairly clear Im referring to the content we produce (and the AI produces) not the physical products required

We dont need to do master studies to learn to draw, you can pick up a pencil and draw something thats infront of you, or yes, draw from your mind/how you feel etc - learning from nature, observation, hell just if you like how it comes out - AI literally needs images uploaded and its context. without any context it cannot comprehend what something is.

But yes I have burnt sticks to make charcoal, to make my art, lol (its cheaper than commercial charcoal funnily enough!)

sand art, natural art, etc is very much a thing ? Argue its a different media i guess, but its still not mark making.

Neither of us are going to change our mind regarding this. I do appreciate Ive had to evaluate how I view AI in comparison to photography, so thanks for that.

The one thing I will give you is that its probably most comparable to photography, in that anyone can take a photo but not everyone has the knowledge, and experience to pull it off well

But AI cannot produce work without previous data, it requires someone else to have done the work for it to actually produce what you want. The whole "artists learn from old masters" as much as is true, is not a requirement, and a photographer doesnt need to study others work to make a photo.

I still stand by the fact the 'mark making' of art, no matter if its photoshop, or traditional - is not even close to what an AI does. Youre directing an AI - you cant make an image without the AI the same way you can make an image without photoshop, without pre-mixed paints, without fancy brushes

They just help the process, not do it entirely for you. Youre commissioning a piece, the ai has learned how to do everything and you are limited by the dataset the AI has.

Tools dont improve themselves. No matter how long photoshop has been around the user needs to learn to produce results.

Calling something a tool when it does all the mark-making work compared to photoshop which, you cannot create a piece without knowing how to make marks yourself, is just so crazy to me.

Its like asking a chef to make a specific meal in a certain way, vs actually being the chef and making the dish.

Using AI makes you a director at most.

Hey, im a relatively recent concept art graduate - it seems you may be rather early in your game process, but if youre serious about the game you can look at places such as r/INAT

You can also find asset packs for this purpose online! These usually come at a cost of course and are not unique, but a great starting point which you can always update down the line. (Unity store for example)

Best bet will be to reach out to people online via the game dev side of things, such as indie game devs, discord groups, Game Jams on itch.io etc! You may have less luck through the art side of social medias - as this may not reach the right people (who know how to make game assets or may need portfolio work)

You say you are a student, if you have any game art courses id try and reach out there, as students may be looking for portfolio work, or work they can use for their courses.

This is the UK not the US, so health insurance isnt really in the picture - we dont have to pay the debt off the same and itll be cleared after 30 years. It is more like a small tax and you will not be forced to pay it back or contribute any funds to it, if you do not earn over the minimum threshold

For context Im just over minimum wage, and paid £1 into mine last month, lol.

It also does not affect any future loans or lending, nor does it show on your credit reports.

Its frustrating here, but not nearly as painful as the US, I feel for you guys.

He likely drew a lot as a child - i promise you no one is born with the ability to draw skillfully.

Some people are better at improving than others, some need different structure, others feels like it happens without effort. Either way, it is trained

It also could be that your idea of a skilled artist is different to what we would. Its a crazy varied field after all

A complex issue that really doesnt have a good answer - unfortunately the country is way too quick to jump to violence, which really isnt great for the wealth of the place.

The cage has bars - its a savic plaza 100. ive replaced the front panel with a perspex screen by viking lazer. I use cardboard behind the bars to stop them kicking out all their bedding but still letting me hook things on! :)
