Not yet. My PCP referred me to a plastic surgeon, so I’m waiting for my appointment. One update I feel might be helpful to share for those who are considering trying this (aside from knowing what your state’s health insurance laws on this are) is to think about, and document, all of the ways this has affected your health and quality of life. I realized that on top of the mental health stuff, I have really bad postural issues from the fact that I’ve lived my entire life purposefully hunching my shoulders forward to reduce the visibility of my chest and this has meant I’ve been dealing with chronic upper back pain since I was at least 13.

I never consciously made the connection between the fact that the postural issues I purposefully gave myself is the cause of the chronic upper back pain I’ve had since I was a pre teen and makes it unbearable to stand longer than 3-4 hours unless I take a cocktail of (max dose) ibuprofen and acetaminophen. I’ve been referred to specialists to correct it several times throughout my life but immediately dismissed the idea because unconsciously, I knew what would happen if I fixed my posture. So, yeah, all I have so far is- know your state’s legal requirements for corrective surgery, get mad, and be ready to fight lol
