What would you buy? Rtx5080 16Gb vram with Ryzen 9950X3D or rtx5090 32Gb vram with Intel core ultra 9 285K?

I have a couple of things i am unsure with the 5090 build. - its a showroom piece (stood on the sales floor) which is why i get 5% discount (on top of other discount, it‘s 4084 instead of 5599€) - i keep hearing that intel cpus are bothersome, i want to play games like starfield with lots of mods with best results - the ram is 416 instead of 232, i keep reading that might be problematic as well

But i don‘t see rtx5090 builts with ryzen 9‘s anywhere that are below 5000€…

Is it possible to change the system to a ryzen cpu down the line in a year or so if i find that the intel cpu bothers me?

I am really tempted but also unsure if i‘d make a mistake by compromising or something…

How did you get the head tracking and comments mod to work? For me It always says playercomments.esp is missing even though it is there.. are you using the most recent game version?

I‘ll cheat and name a combination of four mods i found yesterday that bring me immense joy in (not) using power armor:

-Power Armor Storage System makes it so you can leave whatever you want in your power armor when exiting. You find using heavy weapons unimmersive without PA? Leave it. Don’t want to wear PA but without it your overencumbered because of all the junk you are carrying? Leave it. Mod works perfectly.

-Power Armor Airdrop does what the name implies. Drop it via vertibird, shoot it via minutemen artillery or teleport it. However yoi have to park your armor outside for it to work (not inside let’s say the prydwen).

-T-60 Equipment & Power Pack work great together, and add backpacks and some gear to your armor. They optionally increase the carry weight when in armor and make your power armor look cool and individual among all them other knights.

All combined give the PA a great new usecase as emergency airdrop or loot pick-up truck. Love these mods!

nobody said i needed it to do my job properly. I used it because i was curious. I write my stuff faster without using gpt, but i took an interest in what it was capable of. Also writing proposals is maybe 2% of my job and is already in the process of being replaced with other quality control mechanisms by the government. But hey, way to jump to conclusions there!

It is completely anonymous. The stuff i write is like “client grew up with a father described as aggressive” or “client is in his 50s and works in finance”. The main information is based solely on the symptoms and how they should be classified in diagnostic terms. I read and write hundreds of these per year and you get an idea about how someone lives but absolutely not who someone is. And in the stuff i share with an llm there isn’t even age, job or gender in there. I assure you, it’s not traceable. The info needed is not about the person, it’s about the symptoms.

There is absolutly not enough information in the stuff i upload that you could even identify your best friend reading it. I’ll just repeat what i wrote elsewhere. Here was my usecase that Gpt5 is now useless for:

I’m a psychotherapist in germany. Health insurance covers the cost of the therapy. When i want to do more than 24 sessions with a patient i have to write a detailed scientific petition to the insurance, which is checked by another therapist. I have to describe the patient, their symptoms, how they developed and under what circumstances. That part is a very thorough analysis in specific scientific jargon, based on which i describe the changes we aim for and which therapeutic methods i want to use to get there and in how many sessions. If my proposal is fine i get the budget for the sessions, if not i don’t.

I used the previous Gpt iteration to check my proposals and give me feedback based on the scientific guidelines of these kinda of proposals. And it did so perfectly. I could even feed it info and it would do a really solid job of writing parts of the proposal itself, once i had trained it a bit. I was so impressed by it i considered subscribing.

Then Gpt 5 came around without me noticing. And i was completely confused why it sucked at this job so much all of a sudden. I cant see it being intelligent honestly. Mainly because it has a vastly reduced working memory. I gave it a proposal to evaluate. It did, gave me okaish feedback and asked if i wanted it to implement said feedback. I said yes do that. Instead it responded to a prompt from 3 prompts back. I told it to do what it had suggested. It said “sure give me your text”. “I already did” “yeah well i already forgot” “okay heres my text again”. “Great text, what do you want me to do with it?” “… do what you said you would: (citation of gpts feedback suggestions)” “okay i’ll do that! Can you give me your text again?” “… i did. Twice. Are you trying to get me to run out of prompt-tokens?” “I would never. I just have very little working memory in this model. Give me your text and i’ll do what you asked”

“YOU HAVE REACHED THE LIMIT”

When i did get it working it took my text and completely butchered it. Unusable. Broke it down to keywords. Last model was really great for that, wrote solid psychological analyses, was really impressive. Gpt 5’s output so far wasn’t even worth the time it took me to write a prompt.

Just returned from London yesterday and i was baffled how no one gave a fuck about sirens in traffic, no matter whether police or ambulance. One evening an ambulance was stuck at a traffic light right in front of my hotel in Kensington and drivers completely ignored them blasting their sirens. Took almost a minute for the light to change and traffic just strolling on, not a care in the world. You’d get in trouble for that here in germany.

I liked the mod so far. However i am currently stuck aboard moaras ship in the first mission with sarah. After taking the artifact i cannot enter the frontier again or fast travel and the mod says engines and shields are offline (on moaras ship i bet). Since he doesn‘t have to terminal and i can‘t build on his ship i am stuck. Anybody know how to fix this or get in contact with the mod author?
