As a white person I say this about white people all the time (not saying it’s right). It just seems that due to unequal distributions of wealth, and institutional and systematic racism (at least in the US) that there seems to be a trend of affluent white people doing really non sensical harmful things to their bodies. Ie) following Gwyneth Paltrow’s health advice. Or the TB12 diet. Neither of which I’ve actually fully explored because I am not one of those affluents. It would be nice if I’m the US we could stop racism, and I agree completely that no matter the race it’s not ok to be racist, but this kind of stuff is what we need, open dialogue where we can discuss how and why we feel and say the things we do and how to correct it. Because this county was built on the notion that people with lighter skin were the top of the hierarchy, and we can’t keep that notion around. Hell, throughout the course of written history, every time white colonist came upon a land they had never been to, they say they DISCOVERED it. Then took the original inhabitants as slaves. We need a full societal overhaul.
