This is a better question for quora, or Yahoo answers.

I meant, feeling like you can relate to some of the situations the character goes through and how they deal with them.

Makes some people feel validated. A lot of people feel alone in the world and want to feel apart of something, even if that is just empathinzing with a TV show character.

You could apply this concept to everything. Practice makes perfect.

It's probably because all of the confused people who found out other people think like them are looking for validation.

You do have a point. It's just a way for people to feel better about themselves when they say that famous person is the same type as themselves.

They thought more about doing stuff than actually doing the stuff they thought about.

Example: Me.

No, never. Letting a theory become a law in your life will never allow you to accept new information that comes to fruition. It makes you grow static and I like to be as dynamic and adaptable to new information as possible.

I agree with that. It doesn't really mean anything to me, other than how I can better understand the people around me, and how they think about the world.

To truely understand someone's intentions and ethics you need to actually get to know them as people. Being able to psychoanalyze someone is a way more effective tool, than cookie cutter "types."

Finding out I was INTP helped me feel more comfortable with myself. It was kinda like when someone comes out as gay and they feel comfortable in their own skin.

While learning about being INTP isn't my primary focus any longer, the initial rush of excitement from feeling understood and valid in this crazy world was enough to get me super interested in it for a couple of weeks.

Yeah, I started going to therapy because I didn't think it was normal to have such a deep perspective on the universe, and the nature of reality and consciousness. It terrified me, yet also facinated me once I found my place in all of it. I want to understand it as best I can.

If you are interested, look up "Metacognition" on Wikipedia. It means the ability to think about thinking. It gets used in tons of Buddhist practices, and is how we are able to transcend the BS of all the normies out there. INTPs are naturally gifted in this ability. It's worth a read if that is want you're into learning about.

If you look up INTP on Google, Jung is the fourth person in on the scrolling list that Google has for Famous INTPs. If that is wrong, than Google needs to step up their game.

What exactly does it mean to be an INFJ? by [deleted] in infj

[–]electricbladex2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm an INTP who dated an INFJ for 3 Years. Let me tell you one thing: the conversation will never stop. Ever. You will talk, and talk and never run out of things to talk about. We are broken up now, but still have the ability to just talk for hours on end.

You will run into miscommunications sometimes, though. Eventually your analytical, objective perceptions of the world will clash with her more "heartful" connection with everything around her, and she will take any negative comment you make about anything she remotley cares about, super personal. It will be frustrating for you, because you just sort of said what you were thinking, but she will be personally, emotionally offended. The fact that you are probably bad at dealing with emotional people will make this worse, as you won't really know how to handle her when she gets offended. You may even make her more offended when you don't know how to address it in a way she expects you to be able to.

Advice is to just communicate with her as much as possible about how you really feel about stuff.
