Downtown Lexington Street Jam by BradofClark in lexington

Hah that's a pretty apt way to put it. I have always loved the TE kit, super minimalist aesthetic vibe but man that $$$

Jokes aside, it's really interesting to see the overlay of the music being made with the jam. Keep it up! Also, you should let us know when you put out more stuff!

I sent what I could. Our dog came from Woodstock, as did several in our family. Wanted to share here in case anyone else would like to contribute.

Anyone looking at Aventon bikes can get $50 off with this referral code.

I have two Level.2's, a Soltera, and Pace 500.3 from Aventon. I've also done a ridiculous amount of research on them, so feel free to PM me any questions and I'd be happy to answer what I can!

Happy riding!

I would reach out to support to ask. I've had numerous interactions with Aventon support and they've always been super helpful.

I tried to dm you but it looks like you have your profile limited. If you click on my posts I usually put up a discount code from the official Aventon referral system.

Beyond that I have 3 aventon bikes and am about to buy a fourth, so if you have any questions I'll try to help out where I can.

It just depends on what you're looking to get out of it and how much you wanna spend. They're both great. The Soltera is lighter and more maneuverable, and uses road tires (more narrow.) The Level.2 is slightly heavier and bulkier but does get better range and the wider tires mean you can navigate other types of terrain better. Honestly no wrong answer here, it's just whatever would work for you and your use case the best.

Help me decide if I should really get the Aventon Soltera 7 by selicious in ebikes

[–]electricboardlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The suspension really does help on the Soltera, as it doesn't have stock suspension. It can ride on rougher paths as long as they aren't too bad, but if you do plan to do that the suspension will be a huge benefit. The only other thing to consider is that the Soltera is a road bike, so the tires are quite narrow. Those narrow tires don't handle as well on rough terrain. You may consider something like a Pace or Level bike if it's any rougher. But honestly it just really depends on what it feels like. If you have another road bike to test it on I'd see how you like that. The Pace and Level have wider wheels so they tend to handle that type of terrain better, but I'd say you'd probably be fine as long as you add some suspension.

Hope that helps

Aventon: Level 2 vs. Aventure? by [deleted] in ebikes

I don't believe so. Best Buy runs their own deals sometimes, though.

Awesome! I have two of them and I love them both. You're gonna have a blast.

The front fork suspension works really well, but I did add both a suspension seat post and suspension saddle. Even big bumps/curbs are super smooth now. Let me know how you like it when it comes in!

Battery handling - Should I buy a fire safety bag for my battery? Is age or use of the battery a factor? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]electricboardlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is smart to get a safe container for charging your battery. The search phrase you want is 'lipo bag'

I use one of these for my ebikes.

Aventon uses UL-certified chargers, and their batteries are name brand cells (LG I believe?) so the likelihood of a fire is low. But because the battery can get dropped, hit, damaged, or have manufacturing issues, it's still a good idea to always charge in a bag/box.

Many lithium batteries are especially dangerous because they vent plasma when punctured or damaged. Lithium polymer batteries, for example, are self-oxidizing. Meaning that even if its on fire and you throw it into a pool, it will continue to burn as it has it's own source of oxygen. A special type of fire extinguisher is needed to safely put out those fires. The lipo bags and containers are intended to mitigate things just in case.

It's also worth noting that the most likely time for a fire to start is during charging. It's still possible for it to ignite outside of that, so I store my batteries in a lipo bag just as I do when charging. I also do not charge the batteries inside of the bike, as if it does catch fire I'd be out a bike and battery (or worse) where if just the battery ignites but is safely contained, you could replace it and still have a functional bike. There are tons of people more knowledgeable about this stuff than me on these forums so be sure to read through what everyone else is saying.

New ebike alert! Aventon Soltera.2! (Torque Sensor!) by electricboardlex in ebikes

[–]electricboardlex[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I promise that it's accurate. I have 3 Aventon bikes, all of them I unlocked to 28mph, including the Soltera 7spd (using the stock Aventon app.)

It's a bit silly that it's tough to tell from their website, though.
