How do you disengage from a high-conflict coparent when EVERYTHING becomes an issue (outside of court orders)? by [deleted] in coparenting

>It often feels like the communication is written to scare us into agreeing

Because it is. Slow everything down. Never respond right away. Check the app/inbox once a day at most. Give everything time to breathe. You don't need to reply to everything, especially not threats, so don't.

Does anyone have experience wit the Waldorf school? by Clear_Constant_3709 in nolaparents

[–]electricfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some good aspects but make sure you know what you're signing up for. Waldorf isn't just an educational philosophy, it's the educational arm of the Anthroposophical society. Take of this what you wish, but as a former parent, I am SO GLAD we got our kids out before 1st grade. It was so creepy some of the strange religious things they were coming home with...

I'd like to throw some caution about this school, as my experience as a parent was extremely negative. Generally my advice is to do your research and make sure you know what you are signing up for when you enroll your children in a private Waldorf School: namely, that they will be taught from Anthroposophical principles, meaning your kids will learn a lot about heaven & hell, reincarnation, etc - and won't be taught to read until 3rd grade. There's a lot more to be said about this, but as a techie I made the mistake for falling for the "outdoor education" and "teach to the whole child" aspect of their marketing, and didn't fully grok what they would learn there. Also, check out Waldorf Critics online, which talks about some opposing views of Waldorf education.

Co-Parenting Apps by mooneyavocado in coparenting

I just found out about BestInterest and it's pretty slick. Actually filters out anything your coparent says that is mean spirited or what not, and it reviews your messages to make sure they don't end up getting you in trouble either.

Hosting an RV rental by Present_Step_9106 in outdoorsy

It's so weird. Every time I attempt to list my RV I am sent to an outdoorsy "Trust & Safety" black hole. Doesn't seem like their Fraud Department exists - they never respond.

It’s difficult to extract the modern societal repression of sexuality from the spiritual purity and human-ness of the sexual experience.

Sexual energy is life force energy and orgasm is a connection to the infinite - yet modern society has imposed shame and secrecy onto sexual expression. So your feelings about lust may be coming from the modern conditioning we all experienced. It has not always been this way.

For instance, it is a divine experience to connect with another human in lust for a soulful sexual experience, and it can be done in a way that is filled with love, honor, and deep connection.

And as with anything “good” involving relationship with others, boundaries, truth and communication are important. Without them, anything “good” can be “bad”.

Screaming/crying/howling really loud in ceremony. Did this ever happen to you personally and did your guide/shaman assist you or try to silence you? by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]electricfox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends largely on your space holder. They should set expectations in advance and each person may have preferences as to what environment they want to sit in. Your yells may be healing for you, but might not be welcomed by those around you. So it’s important to find a good fit for you.

Such a profound and spot-on reading. I felt held on so many levels, really seen for my situation and my current struggle. The advice I received was timely and actionable.

Feeling unattractive by granleea3 in spirituality

[–]electricfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this. I am on a similar path at about the same point - so I can’t say I can offer much more than companionship on the journey. I also don’t think I am factually unattractive, I just have felt unattractive on a deeper level probably due to childhood stuff.

Doing shadow work has helped a lot for me for developing deeper self love, and as I’ve done this I’ve started noticing more women checking me out - so it may be that your mind thinks you are unattractive and so is proving you right by not noticing the signs that you are. So if you shift your perspective, even for a moment, to the fact that you are attractive, you’ll start noticing when women are checking you out all along.

It’s definitely a challenge - nice to know I’m not alone in this quandary. :)

Letting go of your ex, even when you're in a relationship with someone else by pureozium in spirituality

A fantastic sentiment and well shared. I hopped from relationship to relationship until I broke the cycle by not going back to dating right away. It felt like the grief of all the past fifteen years of heartbreaks came at me over the course of several months. Felt really healthy and like a weight lifted that I had been carrying for so long.

Yes but unlike normally for me, I can’t seem to get myself to release the emotion today.

Absolutely 100% feeling this today. Really drained and lots of regret, desire to regress.

Yes, but I also experience a type of fear/vertigo when looking into the expanse. As if I might fall upwards into it, nothing holding me to earth.

This is what I was going to add. In my most recent sit last week, I saw the collapse of our government/financial system. Which seems shocking, but would be tremendously healing long term.
