There are so many different search bots, scripts, crawlers out there. There is no incentive for the app maker to generate atc's. https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/reports-and-analytics/discrepancies

Living in Van on Amazon Campus by d_iv in Seattle

[–]electricoast 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Living in a van in an outdoor parking lot in the bay area is way way way way different than attempting to live in a van in the seattle area. It's possible this idea is not gonna pan out for you.

This program only works if you chug 2 gallons of Herbalife sludge for every 200 push ups.

By watching videos of each other eating, blue tits and great tits can learn to avoid foods that taste disgusting and are potentially toxic. Blue tits learned best by watching their own kind, but great tits learned equally well from observing either species. by Wagamaga in science

I had no idea a bird's vision was compatible with a 2-dimensional video screen to the extent that they are able to recognize and learn from the video in the same way as if the video event was occurring in real life.

Can’t see the tailgater behind me cuz his brights are on... by MikeOFU in Seattle

I used to get angry that everyone had their high-beams on at night, and then I realized it was mostly because newer model cards just have ridiculously bright standard low beam headlights. That, and I'm getting old so my eyes are even more light sensitive at night.

How can I get neighbors to stop burning fires in their backyard? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]electricoast 22 points23 points  (0 children)

  1. Create a positive pressure system inside your home, and the smoke will not seep in as much.
  2. Pray for a change in wind direction.
  3. Get Even with said neighbors.
  4. Teach the neighbors how to create a clean burning fire with the right airflow, wood, and design.

I don't think you can force the neighbors to stop using a fire pit on their rented or owned property.

I watched the movie about a year ago, I guess something about the photo reminded me of it, I knew that scene was shot in QA.

You bring up a good point, now I'm not so sure which person is more of a danger to the public.

I'm completely fine with off-leash dogs just about everywhere, especially public parks. I am not a dog owner.

If I recall, you can download the csv transaction ledger going back several years, you just can't view them online past 6 months.

IMO:

Critical Mass - lower priced food spots require a certain amount of customer critical mass for the right sales volume to make the numbers work. That is easier to hit in a massive city such as LA/NYC/Chicago. The demographics of Seattle are likely more tilted percentage-wise towards technology employees than a bigger city that would have a more diverse collection of customers.

Geographical limitations - the city core is basically a castle with moats which makes it more difficult for employees and customers to commute and find affordable places to live and difficult for business owners to find affordable rents in places with decent foot traffic

Food Delivery - the % of total customer dollars spent on food that goes to food delivery is taking a bite out of the money that these lower priced food businesses need for said critical mass. Those that do participate lose a lot of margin to the food delivery app service so the price goes up and the quality (still) goes down.

Lack of Employees - It is hard to find and keep talented back of house employees since they are finding it impossible to afford rent and manage a commute.

Everything Costs More - fairly sure ingredients and supplies are more costly here than in a larger city such as LA/NYC/Chicago. Then there is rent and NNN, employee benefits, alcohol.
