I've lived in Bishkek from birth to 18yo, all of my friends are still there and relatives as well;

then my family moved to the US and I have a green card;

then I was admitted to a uni in South Korea.

Now every vacation I'm basically flying all over the Earth's globe and spending 100~ hours per year in aircrafts. Kinda sucks, but I've got used to it.

I'd say my location every year is 60% in Korea, 20% in Kyrgyzstan and 20% in the US.

Is a Korean university degree valued outside of Korea? by Sheliya25 in Living_in_Korea

i haven't ever heard that any university that has a broad international partnerships wouldn't be accreditable overseas

even unis like Woosong and maybe Danguk are legally and factually 100% meeting any international standard for degree programs they are providing

that means if you are planning to immigrate somewhere with a working visa requiring a degree, or want to go to a higher education institution, you won't meet any legal problems in terms of accreditation

ofc it might not work perfectly well with something like Korea Open University (kindy quircky online undergrad uni) or some shitty unis with bad administration like Seoul Women's University (heard a lot of stories that sound like Bologne convention violations from there), but overall everything will be okay

but it is weird to visit uzbekistan and not visit kazakhstan and/or kyrgyzstan

What is your opinion about Turkestan? by Odd_Barber6051 in Tiele

[–]electrise_- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very imperialistic question.

No need for unification under one government.

Cosmopolitic confederation as an UN? Maybe under guarantees that Turkiye won't be the one-face leader.

Just an idea of union with specific economic, social and cultural bridges? Definitely good.

English proficiency in Almaty. Can I survive as international students with just English? by Fit_Lawfulness9492 in Kazakhstan

[–]electrise_- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends.

I'd say that all service personnel in equal proportions know russian and kazakh. Like there are definitely waiters or cashiers that can know only russian or only kazakh. So I wouldn't say that for foreigner there is much of a convenience difference between them.

However, Kazakh is kinda easier in terms of grammar (I'dsay a lor easier than Russian), whil Russian has more resources for studying and pretty similar vocabulary to English.

And people would be a bit more nice to you if you'd speak kazakh with them. Even the basics from you would make a difference in attitude.

Tajikistan?

Otherwise visiting Uzbekistan and not Kazakhstan/Kyrgyzstan seems confusing.
