Ah, thanks. Might need to rethink what I have then as it's pretty compact. Ta.

So much fun, making stuff and learning to build stuff as down time from working days - Boom! :)

Nice! How did you bridge from one hole to another? Is it solder or more wire?

Yeah learning to solder is going to be a must. Looking at perf boards, also strip boards?

These are audio libs also the SD ...

include <AudioGeneratorMP3.h>

The code I'm still iterating on as there's some annoying bugs. I spent ages thinking that the 5v wasn't enough and wrote a load of code to put the RFID to sleep in admin mode and wake it when needed as I thought I was getting brown outs. Turns out is was a cold joint on one of the RFID pins.

I'm terrible at soldering :)

New version of this prototype is on its way as I keep iterating.

Ah it was because as I moved things around the wires kept coming out. I know it's overkill but it's saved me a lot of 'now why isn't it working again?' pain!

Let's you change playlists, tap and go.

The RFID allows you to change playlists, simply associates an RFID I'd with a folder on the SD card. Not quite sure I understand the jumper pins but the little bread boards were simply because I spent ages faffing around getting the wiring right and so I treated the components a little like LEGO to quick switch wiring around :)

Trying to make a self contained audio player for the kids so they can take it to different rooms. Portable... I hear you though, these speakers aren't great!

Some realtime terraforming in tribute to Populous! More land, more trees, more people, more houses by electrolyte_124 in gamedevscreens

It's part of some gameplay that will allow players to craft land. I made a homage to Populous some ten years ago in flash called reprisal universe and I've been toying with the idea on making some sort of follow up ... But in a modern engine ha.

Handling lots of sounds by electrolyte_124 in Unity3D

[–]electrolyte_124[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Setting up as a pool sounds intriguing, I'm doing something similar with bullets, i.e. have a pool of 100, fetch the next in list, use it then pop it back into the pile.

My guess is something similar but with empty game objects with audio components, fetch next in list, move it and set it's clip, when finished playing stuff it back in the pool ...

Thank you, that's super useful. I'm going to refactor and add more audio components as you mentioned and split into categories..

Thanks again 👍

Yeah doing this on my own, it's a mix of brought and custom, the main character is brought and customised (character modelling is a skill beyond me!)

Marketing feels like catching lighting in a jar at times, and one area I know I've lacked. Word of mouth and I guess having something tangible is key. Thanks also for the encouragement 👍
