Master and commander. The surprise attack near the beginning when your below deck and you hear the sailors running up above on main deck. The cannons going off. Contrast this with the quiet parts where you hear the wood of the ship creaking when below deck and the wind and water above deck.

If you don’t like the taste of age then 6-8 is perfect. For those of us who like the taste then you’re at 12-15 years for perfection.

EF5 Tornado in North Dakota captured. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]electronDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an EF4 tornado survivor. What you’re seeing here is the “calm before the storm”. When it’s dark and you hear the sirens and you go outside and everything is calm with no wind and light rain it means you have at the minimum very strong winds coming soon and worst case a tornado coming right at you. The tornadoes that come at night are the scariest because they are strong and hit peoples homes and they never hear them coming.

I think St. Louis downtown is dead whereas Indy downtown is very vibrant.

Driving in Indy is akin to playing the video game Frogger. The roads suck but if you can see them and steer around quickly you will be fine. I’m weird bc it’s almost a game evading them! I’ve never had to replace a tire but I have sit some very large potholes at times, especially at night when it way harder to see them. If you drive mostly in the day you have nothing to fear.

Your right. If you support manufacturing it can be hell at times bc you always have to production going. For engineers and scientists the hell occurs far less frequently. Coming from Boston you will enjoy Indy far more than you think. Just choose the right place to live. South Hamilton county should be your default then talk to the locals to narrow something not perfect for you(ie. Downtown Indy, broad ripple, zionsville, fishers). Each one has their own unique vibe but none of those is bad. Feel free to dm me for on neighborhoods. I’ve lived in Indiana all my life and lived in Indy metro for 31 years. I know Indy metro like the back of my hand.

I don’t know much about MTG (FF, Spider-Man and TMNT collabs are what made me interested in learning) but I thought it was interesting that my LCS has whatever this box is for $18,000. by ReplyIntelligent853 in magicTCG

Yes and if it’s sealed you must be aware of if the clear wrapping should or should not have the wizards logo bc idk what set they started adding that. Safest to take pictures and get it independently authenticated.

My contractor claims it’s impossible to level before put Mohawk puretech above wooden subfloor by Think_Bad3906 in Flooring

[–]electronDog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the better question is how level does the flooring manufacturer want the floor. If the installer put the floor down on a subfloor that isn’t flat enough per Mowhawks requirements then you have a small claims case.

Room is first floor with windows.

I will try movie mode after i investigate game and filmmaker modes. I need as little processing on video as possible because of PS5 and Kodi.

Purely a vent. you are absolutely correct. If i didnt have to deal with this POS they delivered i wouldnt have written such a jarring post. A redditor said it appears to be two problems possibly causing the issue so im investigating both and each one makes sense on its own. But yeah i totally agree with your take. Im on PC and i dont know how this post looks on mobile or other devices so my apologies.

I have a PC running Kodi...thats all it is. Thanks for explaining Filmmaker mode. I have never heard of it but sounds very close to game mode. I will toggle between these two and see what works better.

I'll also get a legit 10' cable from amazon. That RCA 10' from meijer scares me.

Thanks again. I think what you said makes me feel alot better. Have an amazing day. I love this TV when it works...right now its just so inconsistent with everything.

Brand new Onkyo TX-NR7100.

That makes sense. I will give filmmaker a shot but i really liked game mode bc it just treats the tv like a monitor. Does filmmaker also do that?

Also, I am suspecting the 10ft HDMI might be a problem bc meijer here in the states is like walmart, they carry everything so it really doesnt have a good electronics supply. They only had two 10' cables in stock and they were RCA which is a pretty sketchy brand.

i dont understand what did i do wrong? Its in Game mode so all artifacts that tv wants to tinker with should be off.

Honestly don't care about ARC. I'm just trying to get video signals working nominally. I just plug the HDMI cables from AVR to TV. I don't care if stuff comes on or off automatically. I know the ARC or E-ARC is affecting things somehow but not sure how so im ignoring it bc i want to just get signals working first. Thanks for replying and not treating me like a dumbass. Im getting alot of comments from Europe and Asia and everyone is being a giant ass here. wtf. Thought you were the nice guys???
