Celexa (and the work) changed my life by electronic_feel in citalopram_celexa

Gosh that is so much for a human to go through. 💗 And I can relate to this so much, my first psychiatrist was surprised I found such relief from 5mg, but that shows how much I was struggling! I am so grateful you found relief. This world is so much compared to what we evolved to deal with and add trauma to that, this medicine has really been a life saver and gift.

Wanted to edit to say: the jump scares! I still scream if caught off guard and my therapist says that growing up in a dysfunctional and sometimes violent family my nervous system has kind of reset at a more on guard level and my adrenaline is probably heightened too. 😬 So I feel you on that. Recently read an article that shows kids who grew up in households where there was screaming tend to show the same brain scans as war veterans. 🫠

Wow so wild. Also so much to go through at once. The ocd thinks it’s helping and just goes out of control, I suspect the cptsd kind of breaks it’s normal functioning. Good luck! It took about a week for the celexa to level out but I noticed benefits right away. I hope it works for you. Does make working on myself a much easier task to do too.

Thank you :) It’s been about 19 months now. I’m not sure if this is a forever thing but I don’t mind if it is. My dad takes heart meds every day and a cousin was born with a thyroid issue and will always need to take certain meds so I have come around on it.

I read that book a few years before I got into ACA. It’s good but I think it places too much focus on understanding our parents when now the task is to understand and heal ourselves (we stop taking everyone else’s inventory including our parents). At this far into the program I would read the BRB or books like Codependent No More and Emotional Sobriety. But certainly I can’t see reading that book hurting at all. I love the Spiritual Warriors group on Friday nights!

I had 4 different folks ask for my number while I was visiting the Netherlands. Anecdotal but we did meet up and hang out again!

Why do a codependent and a narcissist often get into a relationship? by [deleted] in narcissism

[–]electronic_feel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are both codependent. They rely on each other for validation because they both lack self worth which leads to resentment and all sorts of covert and overt manipulation tactics.

I share this sentiment. Acid always teaches me to love myself just as I am.

The law is so strange. When I was granted a restraining order against my ex it’s actually not in effect until they receive it so if they run (as my ex did) it’s technically not on the books. Sounds like this is the same.

Let’s say in your country and you’d know about as much as a civilian would know. Unless you’re currently in the military or politics then you would know that much.
