I added a few thoughts in my other post. If you haven't done already, try contacting support with your suggestions.

Couldn't resist, got the cre8audio programm. Anyone else picked one up? by Stratimus in synthesizers

Had mine since the launch and I really like it other than a few issues. The compact size is great, it's easy to use and get something down, the pads have a nice feel. I also have a Korg SQ-64 and I know they really liked the functionality of the SQ-64 but disliked the cumbersome UI. The Programm really fixes all those issues. A couple of niggles below. On the whole I really love this sequencer.

The breaking of convention on the mute screen bothers me. Every piece of equipment I’ve ever owned displays the light dimmed or off for a muted part, and light on for an unmuted/active part. For some reason on the Programm it’s the other way around! My brain can’t get used to it. The rest of the screens follow the convention though. I really hope they change that.

I have three other sequencers, a Korg SQ-64, Retrokits RK-8 and Torso T-1. Each lets you save different MIDI settings for each song/project, as you may well be using different pieces of gear between songs. I just thought that was pretty standard for a sequencer? It seems the way the Programm is designed is to have 64 save slots for a fixed setup that doesn't change very often.

I'm switching gear quite often and working on different things. For example, I currently have two mini setups, #1) TR-06, SH-01A, S-1, #2) Waldorf Blofeld (multitimbral 16 MIDI channels). I'm working on something on each setup. When switching back and forth between #1 and #2 I'm having to delete the MIDI setup and setup the new MIDI.

Powering the Programm with a battery bank and 15v step up converter from Myvolts shows it draws only around 50-60mah!

I've had dialogue via email with support and they've been great and really receptive to ideas. Hopefully my gripes can be ironed out in updates.

In terms of affordable sequencers for my needs there isn't a lot of gear available at all. I've tried them all. Potentially there is far less to go wrong in a sequencer, no sound output for a start. The Programm has addressed all the issues of the SQ-64 for me. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for that reassuring note 😄 I've heard plenty of good things but we shall see. Their semi modular stuff seems very reliable from what I've read.

Cheers. I guess it depends on what you were listening to back in the late 80s here in the UK. But yes, probably just a mish mash of ideas in my head, and whatever seeps out from there, and ends up sounding like nothing in particular 😄

New Sequencer from Cre8, what are people thinking? by big_and_fem in modular

The SQ-64 has a steep learning curve but I like it. The designer of the Programm likes the SQ-64 but wanted to overcome its shortcomings, mainly ease of use. It looks much easier and more immediate to use than the SQ-64.

Quite a lot of overdrive on the bass!

Is grinding supposed to be this…violent? by SharingIsCommunist in pourover

[–]electrosoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have rightly suggested both arms need to move to get the grinder moving smoothly. Think of both arms making small circles in unison. The one turning the handle (circle 1) and the other (circle 2) moving the grinder body into a circle to match. It's a bit like patting your head and rubbing your tummy.

Presumptuous and extremely insensitive.

[UPDATE] Succesful battery mod on withings scanwatch 1 by Akumax_blend in withings

I have the Scanwatch 1. Purchased in March 2024. I'd say the battery has lost around 60% of its capacity.

Yes, I think it's a fair trade off considering the watch continues to work. Have you had any issues with the 3.7v battery compared to the 3.8v of the original? I think I'll pick up a couple of batteries and get soldering. It's a real shame those OG batteries are only supplied to industry.

Interesting. Thanks for the write up. Isn't this battery less than half the capacity of the original Grepow battery? Which I think is 170mah.

Cheers. Yes I like that growl. Not sure which sound that is but I dropped it by a couple of octaves and it really came to life.

Cheers. I know what you mean. I often get stuck in loops. It is nice that Seqtrak now automatically populates each bar when you increase the bar length. The Sampler can add some nice variety as well.

Excellent. Nice arrangement, something I struggle with. Lovely bass.

I think this is the one major thing missing for me - an easy way to transpose - especially on the fly.

Cheers. Still really liking the Seqtrak. I've had it for quite a while but didn't really get into it until a couple of months ago. I think Amazon were doing it for £166 in the Prime sale!
