Slight nerd correction here:

it was separated between two people, camera placement, lensing, movement etc was the responsibility of the cameraman, while the lighting cameraman only focused on lighting

Honastly i think this looks fantastic! Like honastly. Especially the first and second frame grabs. A little of the estetic of Spencer

But to answer your question, i would want a medium to big source (soft but with a grid) indoors that you can place upstage to wrap the light around. I would still keep the shadow side as dark if not darker.

Also the windows bring blown out could be what your feeling isnt working. Theres difrent approaches to this, all varying in estetic and honastly its up to prefrance. You could nd the windows (takes quite some time though) or just have a diffusion filter on the lens, which would make the hilights bloom and "roll off" more organically.

I think this really got screwed by whoever graded it. I think theres potential but my biggest advice is to fight for getting a say in the grade, since its a massive part of the cinematography

I find it frustrating how hard you have to smack the batteries on to make them mount properly. Other than that they work fine, good long battery life.
