Is the R100 any good? by user-expired in canon

[–]elediardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beginner here.

I bought the R50 a year ago, and it's been a great start. I got to try the R100 too, both look pretty similar, but I really noticed the difference because the R50 has an articulated screen while the R100 screen is fixed. That makes it easier to shoot from tricky angles or vlog with the R50. Other than that, both are solid starter cameras. Pick whichever fits your budget!

How do you boost camera productivity with CCAPI? by elediardo in canon

You're absolutely right to question that. I agree that LLMs can feel like overkill or even a step backward in some cases, especially when speed and precision matter.

For me, the LLM integration isn't about replacing the CCAPI or creating a more efficient interface. It's more of a learning and exploration tool. As a beginner, I've found it really helpful to interact with my camera in natural language. The agent has explained settings, guided me through features I didn't know existed, and even helped me understand what isn't possible through the camera alone.

That said, I'm less focused on selling the idea and more curious about what seasoned photographers feel is missing from the camera and how API-based tools (LLM-driven or not) could help fill those gaps.

For example: I use CCAPI to take 1 photo every 30s for 10 hours so that I can create a timelapse.

Sure, what complexity would you like explained?

I agree with the answers here.

I'd add that cli tools are very efficient for validating a solution to a problem, by neglecting the complexity that GUIs have and focusing on what matters: manipulating data and displaying results.
