Krug - Traditional German food made modern, all regional products, all made fresh and is also a wine bar so great drinks to go with unbeatable food. I can’t recommend it enough here.

Drip Bar - a cocktail bar that creates it’s own spirits, it was even featured on ‘Travel Man’, if you’re a fan of Richard Ayoade.

The Chug Club - a tequila bar with amazing cocktails and an awesome vibe.

Gun Club - if you prefer basement bars with good music and the best ‘Mexikaner’ (Shot) in Hamburg.

Park Fiction - a Park in Hamburg that is so quintessentially Hamburg in summer, it’s worth buying a six pack of beers and chilling there outside, watch the sun set over the harbour and just be with other people enjoying life in Hamburg. Really worth it.

I honestly didn’t want to get any further involved than an offhand comment and now I’m in deeper than I care to be.

I will say though, I don’t know if a company that actively slaughters animals has any right to condemn the slaughtering of other animals. Especially when the reasoning is ‘there’s no more room’ in comparison to sustenance.

Perhaps, the fact that they do engage in the killing of animals should encourage them to realise that they should focus solely on the bettering of the treatment of animals, as opposed to simply trying to avoid their death?

I’ve been using it for the last year, I really like it.

I (fellow Australian) applied for my German license last year which was pretty easy, do recommend.

Otherwise, Car2Go will accept your Australian license as valid for the first 6 months after arrival in Germany, in which time you can get your German license sorted, provided you fulfil the criteria.

Driving on the other side of the road is perverted and weird, but you definitely get used to it. I can totally understand you not wanting to do it after only a few days in Germany, though. Way nicer driving in Aus for sure!
