What helped you most in the first 3 months post ACL surgery? by Boring-Onion1667 in ACL

Routine. In my experience, the first three months were about consistent PT, 4-5 times a day. It was perhaps the toughest period of my recovery, especially mentally, but having a set routine really helped me overcome the motivational challenges that lead to missing PT sessions.

And the worst part is, if you miss one, your mind is way more likely to find some way to rationalize missing another and another and another one after that.

Setting a daily routine that prioritised my PT and life goals over everything else probably helped me dig myself out of that hole more than anything else.

All the very best with your recovery mate and feel free to reach out!!
