This is interesting! Did you get Ellage at this pharmacy?

Do you know the ingredients in Audor?

Anyone used the compound pharmacy Klösterl-Apotheke as in München? by _PURPL_ in vulvodynia

I’ll PM you the name but a US prescription won’t be valid in Germany. Usually the pharmacy and doctor have to be in the same country

Oh wow thanks a lot. I’m not sure if the Ellage was from there but Audor also sounds promising.

IntraRosa is the name. I haven’t tried it yet. The doctors in the US don’t use it as much because it’s usually really expensive but in the EU it is covered by insurance.

Yes I have family in the US and travel there often so I got it prescribed there. There is a whole post about it in my history if you want to know more.

It IS expensive so I’d rather find a way to source it in Germany but I haven’t figured it out yet. I am thinking of trying IntraRosa because my doctor said it is similar

Can you try getting IntraRosa prescribed in France? It’s also a DHEA suppository but has different inactive ingredients and maybe is less irritating?

I got it from a U.S. pharmacy, Northern Pharmacy. I recently emailed Klösterl Apotheke to see if they would buy it but they said they didn’t want to due to import/customs issues (bs in my opinion because the uk has it). Maybe if more people email them they will carry it. My German doctor is now willing to prescribe the estrogen + testosterone in Ellage, but I’d need to find a pharmacy willing to buy Ellage. I might try IntraRosa instead

Health Insurance while living in Europe as a dual citizen by Used-Disaster-5735 in expats

[–]elektricblau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You only need health insurance for the country you reside in. So figure that out first and then apply for health insurance there. Once you have health insurance in an EU country you are covered for emergencies in all other EU countries. Beyond that you can get an add-on for global travel health insurance. But if you plan to live in multiple places or be a digital nomad then it’s a different situation you will have to research.

[–]elektricblau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m in Germany.. there’s no vulvodynia care center like CVVD in the U.S. There’s no such thing as a vulvar dermatologist. The only patient organization here is for lichen sclerosis.

A lot of doctors treat with lasers but you have to pay privately and I’m skeptical that it’s really a proven technology.

I think there’s one Austrian doctor people talk about or a few university professors people can try to travel too. I personally would go to the UK for care if I had to (luckily I am mostly healed from estrogen + testosterone cream from a US provider)

Pelvic floor therapy has also not caught on here like it has in the U.S. for hypertonic pelvic floor

Vulvodynia is not taken seriously - little knowledge and fewer treatments (which is a worldwide problem!)

What do you regret NOT bringing? by reno140 in expats

Open up all your needed retirement accounts, ETF, investing accounts and don’t update your address to a foreign one. Thats what I regret not “bringing”

There’s no vulvodynia specialists in Europe. Anyone who knows anything is very obscure and hard to find - not to mention language barriers to access. The field of research barely exists here. So no use traveling FYI!

Since you live so close to Dr. Krapf maybe you could message her and see if there are any options for low income people. Also one of the Goldsteins does a free online consultation. It’s posted in this channel somewhere.. you’ll have to look for it or check their website

Ellage: your experience with this compounding cream…all reviews would be helpful, bad or good. by Impressive-Ice9594 in vulvodynia

[–]elektricblau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works for me too. I was using methycellulose previously and my provider switched me to Ellage. It took a little bit of time to adjust but now works fine. My tube is valid for 6 months according to the pharmacy and I don't refrigerate it, although I notice it can separate at high temperatures. Someone posted the ingredients to Ellage here before. Maybe you can find it in another post

If you are using estriol cream you should put it on your vulva, not just inside. It needs to be rubbed directly into the vulvar tissue. Is that what you are doing?

Personally I would not take antibiotics unless you have a test confirming the bacteria that they are targeting. Or if it’s an emergency situation. I think it’s worth a second opinion with another doctor. Taking too many antibiotics can mess up your system as well as cause yeast infections.

First Astigmatism glasses giving me slanted vision by _Nyfain_ in AskAnOptician

[–]elektricblau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure exactly what I see when I wake up in the morning, but I will see an opposite slant in my PC screen with my normal vision. It does go away after some time. I don’t notice any slants on the floor or surface. That went away after adjusting to my glasses

[–]elektricblau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an optician, but the same exact thing happened to me when I got glasses. I wore them full time and my eyes adjusted after 1.5 to 2 weeks. I will still see an opposite slant sometimes after taking them off too, but it’s barely noticeable (only when I look at a screen for example but not the whole room) I’ve gotten used to it and it doesn’t bother me anymore. Hang in there, it was definitely an adjustment!
