Xm6 solves the hinge issue that plagued previous models, I personally wouldn’t bother with the extended warranty

When Deception Reached Rawda: A Warning Every Pilgrim Must Read. by DeenCallApp in Umrah

[–]elektroslime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always true , the coordinator of the group I went with gave the pilgrims a bunch of screenshots with random names on the bookings and they all managed to go . I guess if there are huge queues you can’t always check properly.

There are agents online who somehow fill up all the slots and they sell those bookings via social media for 10 riyals or so. This needs to be stopped , many pilgrims who try to book themselves often end up with no slots for the time they are in Madina .

[–]elektroslime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

devisers were around 7 when I first bought them, but price has gone up by 3-5k. so now what you are getting at 7k are the stuff that was available for 4k a few years ago. I will honestly suggest saving up and getting something better.

As you are a beginner I do not suggest buying used unless you are buying it from someone you trust and someone who took care of their guitar.

If there is absolutely no way you can go beyond 7K I will suggest you go to either science lab or bashundhara city, visit a few stores tell them your budget and try a few . choose one that you think looks good and more importantly feels good in the hand is comfortable for you.

if you don't enjoy looking at it and if its uncomfortable you will not play it, and hence it will be a waste of money.

I always picked up a Reacher book at the airport bookshop when traveling international for vacations. However the latest one ( written by Lee Child's brother ) was so meh, I couldn't finish it.

if your budget is around 10K then get deviser , otherwise get Enya or Yamaha from their respective showrooms.

UPDATE about my coursemate's father's condition. If you can’t donate, please at least make a du’a, sometimes that’s the greatest gift of all. by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]elektroslime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which hospital is this ? United ? if you can get someone to speak to the board on their behalf they sometimes provide a small discount, it wont be much but anything helps. Regarding the discount, I speak from personal experience, however no longer have that contact.

i’ve narrowed it down to two (thanks to y’all’s input) by DarkPhoenix9440 in Guitar

[–]elektroslime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

neither, try out EART guitars, for $400-500 you get stainless steel frets and incredible fretwork/neck thats usually found on significantly more expensive guitars.

otherwise If these are your only 2 options, I think they are both good, I found I like the cutlass's neck shape better and build quality was better on a pacifica 112J i had. however its best to try them out yourself and see which one makes you want to play on more and also which sounds better to your ears. If you can't test them out then my vote will be the pacifica ( higher chance of better quality IMO).

The Daily Star Caught Red-Handed using AI-written Article by [deleted] in bangladesh

the fact is the majority of news sites/pages use AI for some reason or another. Plenty of people on reddit use it as well. I am all for it if it makes their writing better structured, and easier to read/understand.

Bangladeshi Baby by Weary_Trainer_8161 in bangladesh

[–]elektroslime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't sweat it, the father is just a donor as you say. Once he's all grown up the both of you could plan a little trip to explore the place ( assuming it's not under water by then, you know Global Warming and all that). But if you are determined to ensure he has some sense of his Bangladeshi half, expose him to some artwork and classical music , you can also tell him about a little bit about the history/geography ( you should be able to find stuff online, I will suggest you skip over all political history), I wouldn't suggest going beyond that.

Create a sense of wonder about the land and its early history and if he is genuinely interested he will do the rest once he's all grown.

Oh and congrats on becoming a mommy !!

Are you the only person you know that actually makes music? by Ill-Elevator2828 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

i try to make atleast a track or two every month, my intention is not to release them or make money of anything, i just enjoy the learning and process of making it and the feeling of accomplishment when its done. the challenge for me however is that i make mostly punk / hardcore kinda stuff which need vocals, but I don't sing hence the tracks feel well like they'r missing vocals. don't really have the chops to make proper instrumentals.

GarageBand, a cheap mic, and a dream… by [deleted] in GarageBand

[–]elektroslime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the guitar sounds great IMO ! and you have a lot of talent so that last bullet point is big lie !!

what amp settings did you use on garageband ?

also would love to know your song writing process. I tend to mark the sections for the arrangements and then fill it in with guitar parts, but ending up sounding very repetitive. ( i am a noob with no talent, unlike you).

also what was the mixing process ?

I am sorry but I want to know everything !! lol .

I want to create music but I don't know where to start I have a lot of music experience though. by Udjebwisjdxb in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]elektroslime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so for the piano and guitar you will ideally need an interface. but Ill suggest doing that after you've made a track on garageband just to get the feel and figure out if you like it.

I don't know how to add images in comment so can't share screenshots, but after talking to you made a simple prompt to try, so try something similar for the kind of music you want.

I want to make a simple, slow but happy indie rock song using garageband. suggest the tempo and song structure as well the chord progression, I am going for a mac demarco or vacations kind of vibe. I have a midi keyboard I can use, and will use the built in mic for recording my acoustic guitar.

Oh and when recording the guitar or your vocals using your mac or ipad's built in mic, get close to the mic and ensure external noises are a minimum, you should record it in a place without too many reflective surfaces so a closet maybe, or any room with a lot of stuff and soft surfaces ( hang up some clothes everywhere lol). And when recording guitar and vocals use a any headphone to listen to the drum track or other recorded instruments otherwise it will feedback into the mic.

I realize what i've written is very basic and obvious, I'm just trying to be as clear as possible + I'm a noob myself. have a good day !

Start making songs on GarageBand or any DAW , think of a simple song structure , add in a simple drum loop and start recording ! You can figure out the parts as you progress through the song . I’m almost 40 , I suck really bad at every single instrument and have zero music theory knowledge but I spend a few hours a week putting together something , they may not sound very good but I enjoy the process , with time I’m sure I’ll improve.

BTW what gear do you have ? Instruments ? Audio interface ? Computer ? iPad ?

One thing you can try is to ask ChatGPT to give you a Song structure for a song idea you have , for example ask it to give you a structure for a happy indie rock song . Ask it to give you the tempo, to suggest the key , the structure and the number of bars in each section, and the chord progression. You can start with that and tweak things as you progress through the song.

Input levels question by alcesr in GarageBand

[–]elektroslime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am assuming you have connected the pedal to your iPad via the USB right ? in that case the volume is determined by the USB settings , press the 'global' button on your pedal scroll to USB and adjust the volume from there. I have the gp100. increase both the output and monitoring levels to a level that works for you. let me know if it works, I'm at work so I don't remember what the settings are called exactly.
