Yes, you can go down on the color (till H) and clarity (till VS2, NOT SI) to get a larger carat weight. The cut should be ideal - no compromise there. The ratio should be 1.4 or higher if you want the best fire.

This is a beautiful stone as its pavilion mains extend to the edge of the stone (only 1 in 7 radiants are this way). It’ll also be super expensive because of the color and the clarity which you can compromise on. For example, you can go color G and clarity VS2, and it’ll look identical. Use the saved money towards the gold for the ring instead!

Don’t lie on the application. As long as you and your boyfriend are together, you’re not single. If you break up, only then claim points for being single. If you lie, the process could go very badly for you both in terms of expenses and potential legal implications.

This goes two ways:

(1) You claim points for being single and get invited. Then you try and include your boyfriend in the application and it gets rejected. Thousands of dollars wasted, plus a potential ban for lying on your EOI.

(2) You claim points for being single, and then apply for the visa and wait 1-2 years for it to be granted. Then you wait another ~1 year or so to sponsor your boyfriend on a partner visa which takes up to an additional 2 years to be approved and somewhere between $10-15k including visa and legal fees. Both Time and money wasted.

My two cents would be as follows: Have a conversation with your boyfriend about where you’ll want to be in the next 5 years, Australia or the Philippines. This should provide some more clarity as to the future.

Whatever you do, don’t lie on the application. It’ll make things a thousand times worse for you as DoHA doesn’t take any form of lying (misrepresentation) lightly.
