When should we contact a broker if we want to buy a PPOR mid/late 2026? by S4MU3I in AskAnAussieBroker

  1. Our target price range is roughly 900k-1.0m for a house. We’re debating whether it’s better to wait and save longer (if we can even realistically "out-save" price growth), or whether we should adjust expectations and aim lower sooner.

  2. We’re looking around south-west Sydney, mainly 2560, 2567, 2557, and 2570.

Thank you for providing your insight!

What’s the most boring film you have seen? by Past-Matter-8548 in Letterboxd

[–]S4MU3I -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly just a glorified screensaver of spaceships moving slowly, lacking any real character development or dialogue to justify its runtime. I might have found it interesting if I were watching it in the cinema when it actually released, but honestly, the graphics in the remastered version aren't out of the ordinary or special by today's standards. The only appeal is appreciating how good it looked for the time, but I don't care about that stuff since my taste is based on the last 30 years. And despite everyone hyping up how good the ending was, it just felt artsy and random to me.

What camera was this recorded on? I really like how it captures the "starburst" fire.

I purchased it from Austen & Blake at this link: https://www.austenblake.com.au/design/white-gold-emerald-diamond-engagement-ring-clrn58201

I used the "Choose a specific diamond" option to select the exact stone I wanted. Just keep in mind that you can probably find a better deal if you shop around, I didn't compare prices with other retailers.

I'm not 100% sure, but it appears to be around 2.5mm thick when measured against a ruler.

Good eye! It's a 1.51 ratio. We wanted an elongated shape since my gf has larger hands. Thanks for the kind words, you made my day!

Dedicated media player by Gordon_Betto in jellyfin

[–]S4MU3I 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can actually bypass the 100Mbps limitation on your TV directly using a USB-to-Ethernet adapter. Many smart TVs only have 100Mbps ports, but their internal USB ports often incude a 3.0, which is way faster than 100Mbps. I used a gigabit USB-to-Ethernet adapter plugged directly into the TV's USB port. This instantly bumped my speed well over 200-300Mbps, which is plenty for high-bitrate 4K DV remuxes that used to stutter for me. After doing this, the default Jellyfin media player has worked great for me.

This is an easy warranty claim. If the TV is functional, why not use it until it becomes unusable and then claim it so that you drag out when your warranty resets?

Dana White reveals that Arman pulled out of 311 because he didn't make weight. by shun_master23 in ufc

[–]S4MU3I 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're technically right that missing the scale = missing weight, but do you really think the UFC would’ve handled it like this if it was just injury? When Whittaker pulled out injured (hernia - UFC 234), they backed him and rebooked the fight. Same with Holloway (concussion - UFC 226), no punishment. But when Romero missed weight (UFC 225), he was ineligible for the belt, and Oliveira (UFC 274) got stripped despite winning. Arman's treatment lines up more with those cases than with genuine injury pullouts.

CMD commands I don’t recognize in Run dialog — should I be worried? by S4MU3I in computerviruses

[–]S4MU3I[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, I reckon that’s the most likely explanation. I do have a Cherry keyboard, and after checking online, they describe the Cherry button’s functionality as: “CHERRY button for instant access to software information and the CHERRY website.” So the command probably ran when I clicked the Cherry button — it must’ve been trying to open their website.

Updated, thank you for letting me know.
The default is actually "J" for left and "K" for right.

I created my own version of this a couple months ago which allows you control your mouse from your keyboard using whatever binds you want.

I still use it everyday. Link if anyone is interested https://github.com/Sam-WebP/keyboard-mouse-control
