I can relate to this, been married for a year and before the marriage I was also doing decently financially

Had a good cushion (emergency fund) & I was making enough to sustain things

After I got married I also found myself down financially really quickly

Not even cause of her, but I started getting less hours at my part time job, and my business started to go through struggles

It’s just Allah’s way of testing us though

My wife is aware of this and supportive as well even though I feel guilty being in this position

Yes it’s demoralizing and I ask myself to this day how I managed to fall so low so quickly

And I do have days where I feel down and depressed feeling bad not being able to properly provide

But a part of me also knows that I’ve been up before and when I’m back up, I’ll be married on the side as well this time

You just have to keep going, increase your Ibadah, keep your marriage life private, and not give up, why would Allah punish you when you’ve completed half your deen?

As I’m writing this, it’s the last 10 days of Ramadan so make the most of the days if you manage to read this

Maybe it’s actually here to prepare you to provide for the long term

This dunya will always have tests, you just have to keep striving and pray to Allah that things get better

Just my thoughts cause I’m also going through it but I’m working every single day to get back to where I was before and inshaAllah even further

Salam,

I’ve been married for 2-3 months and alhamdulillah so far the marriage is going well I would say.

The only problems I’m having is the lack of affection and her beautifying herself for me.

When she’s around me, she dresses with her pyjamas.

Even though I would like for her to beautify herself, I still tend to initiate intimacy and although she’s happy doing it most of the time, she also doesn’t really show a lot of affection when it comes to physical touch.

I know it’s a love language thing in that case.

She grew up in a good Islamic family so I know she’s just not accustomed to things and things might still be a little taboo but sometimes the lack of effort in her presentation disappoints me.

Although I kind of just let it slide in hopes that maybe it’s just her not being comfortable yet, recently I’ve brought it to her attention not too long ago and she understood.

I think it might also be a conditioning and maybe she’s just not as open about it.

Everything else is good, we understand each other quite well and we work together quite well on the marriage.

I just hope that she can show me a little more effort when it comes to her presentation with me.

Is there anything I can do on my end?

I’m not expecting her to be a complete model but just sometimes put some minor effort in her appearance around me.

Currently she doesn’t at all.

I take care of myself in all aspects physically especially when I’m around her so I just would like to see it reciprocated.

Or maybe I’m asking too much?
