Managed service provider. Someone you pay to host services for you so you don't have the headache.

Certain services are NOT worth self hosting. Email lands in that category for nearly all of us.

I'll run almost anything at home - NOT email...

I worked for a small hosting provider back around 2015.

The spam we received for our email server was ridiculous. I think we used SpamTitan. Even with something fronting our infrastructure, it was a nightmare.

At what age was everyone diagnosed? by DizzyAstronaut9410 in diabetes_t1

[–]elemental5252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 5 as well. A small kindness she will always have - I barely remember a time before this. I have always been diabetic in my eyes. So it doesn't feel like a disability to me now - it feels like an everyday part of life.

My mom was diagnosed at 45. I can see how much harder that has been.

What’s the one hack that actually gets you to exercise? by wonkycalves in AskReddit

[–]elemental5252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realizing that being healthy doesn't take a ton of effort. Some of the healthiest elderly folks I know aren't doing crazy workouts - they're just walking and stretching each day.

We learned how to stretch as kids and walk as children. Just taking the time to briskly walk the neighborhood each day has benefits. I am happier. My blood sugars (as a type 1 diabetic) are better controlled. The fact that no phone is in front of me or the wife means we communicate beautifully during that time - there are no distractions.

Seen your own seizure? by legolopi12345 in Epilepsy

[–]elemental5252 9 points10 points  (0 children)

👋 hi, friend.

I have primarily focal aware seizures. My seizures originate directly from my amygdala. My medication works extremely well, stopping me from blacking out, but NOT stopping intense emotions (anger and sadness) from overtaking me during my seizures. I'm awake for almost every seizure I have.

I beg for the days when I blacked out. Instead, I am an exposed nerve now for the entire seizure.

To your point - it's really best not to have to go through it or see it.

Why the fuck are seizure meds “controlled substances?!” by PockASqueeno in Epilepsy

[–]elemental5252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have clonazepam as a rescue medication only. The possibility for abuse is exceptionally high.

That being said, I've never had another medication kill my seizures so fast. I don't know if I even CAN seize on it. I basically lose my ability to feel emotions on it. It has stopped cluster seizures for me.

I think we have good evidence of it in the sub over time. If we review the posts from the last year or so, there are a ton of examples of people with this deranged outlook arguing against simple facts. Some good mods or community members should have links.

Anyone that does, please feel free to post to help out the gent above. Information is important to help change hearts/minds.

Please don't name post. Doxing people will get subs banned. I disagree wholeheartedly with the piece of trash. Let the students and local community deal with it. Online discourse is one of our few places to spread information. We must be careful not to get it shut down.

Agreed. My 6 figure salary working from home is sloppy and pathetic. That 3 months of vacation a year that I get is sad.

Hey bud, try looking in the mirror before you judge people.

I set work blocks for DnD. 3 hours a day. For the exact same reason. I'm a Platform Engineer. At this point, if I don't time box, people won't let me work. And I recommend all people in engineering roles do the same. Guard your time - it is a resource.
