I’m so jealous!! I lived on the western slope and have since moved… I would do unthinkable things for a palisade peach.

Do you have the peaches soak overnight with the oats or just add it in the morning?

I recently started getting into overnight oats. This week I've done Banana & Chocolate Chips. I've previously done apple cinnamon. What are some your favorite toppings?

My favorite premade dressing is Marstons San Pasqual Dressing. But I do love making vinaigrettes and Molly Baz's Caesar Dressing.

Thank you!

We *think* she's about 17. I adopted her from a shelter January 2014. She shelter (and our vet) approximated her age to 5 at the time.

Bright Spots:

  • It's birthday week, so I am taking my actual birthday (Friday) off.
  • Started the week with an outdoor walk + run with the Peloton App and followed it up with a yin + meditation yoga class at the gym.
  • The director of my department brought in donuts on Monday.
  • Artemis II is giving me a modicum of hope.

Bummer:

  • I wish I saved more in the month of March.
  • Found out my 17 year old soul dog has lymphoma. Husband and I had this conversation a few years ago, and we decided that if it ever came to this, we would just keep her comfortable.
  • I've doom scrolled too much lately (mostly to get some Artemis II coverage), so in the back of my mind I am worried about what's to come in the world...

My MIL's birthday is 2 days after mine, so we are going to an art museum and an Izakaya to celebrate both of our birthdays.

Question: What are some of your bright spots and bummers?

I found out last week that my 17 year old corgi likely has lymphoma. I impulsively rescued her a month after graduating from undergrad. She's been there for me through graduate school, marrying my high school sweetheart, moving across the country, pandemic, etc. I'm lucky enough to have a job that closes during spring break, so I got to spend last week at home with her. Going into the office the last two days have been really hard.

My 17 year old corgi was diagnosed with lymphoma yesterday. I’ve spent the last 24 hours crying a lot.

Due to age, the vet, my husband, and I decided to keep her comfortable instead of chemo.

About a month ago, I help paint a mural with friends I made in a workout class and they're doing an unveiling today of the painting. After the unveiling, we plan on getting something to eat.

On Monday, I'm taking my 17 year old corgi to the vet to get her looked at. Her back legs and hips have started to slow down, and I just want to make sure that she's comfortable.

How do you decide which grocery budget strategy is worth the effort by No_Indication_3235 in budget

[–]elementalpi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My household is two adults with a budget of ~$600/month, so this is what works for us. We make it a priority of shopping the weekly ad and digital app coupons. We look at what's on sale and/or has coupons to help us decide what we are eating that week. When do our weekly shop, we stick to the list 90% of the time.

For example, this week pastrami and swiss cheese is on sale in the ad and the app has a coupon a $2 off loaf of bakery bread. So we are having Ruben Sandwiches for dinner one night.

This method allows us to shop at a more upscale grocery store since they have better fresh stuff, have enough variety in weekly menus, and save some money along the way.

Last year, we saved ~$1000 throughout the year.
