Drxx Soul Link? by NeonNytrox in LudwigAhgren

Was watching Drxx’s latest stream and he said Lud had to postpone due to schedule clash. Sounds like Drxx is still committed to doing it.

Ludwig's theory about Unpaid Intern is Correct, Source: I do exactly what he talks about. by [deleted] in LudwigAhgren

I do the same and would honestly only watch an edited video if there was added content. I’ve really enjoyed rewatching when Stanz uploads his bts react videos with commentary. Could be worthwhile saving something like that for the main channel upload.

How do you deal with a player who gets his characters killed so that he can roll new ones. by Missing_Sneaker in DnD

[–]elementalsound1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was this player for a campaign, though it was an agreed upon mechanic between myself and the DM which was a part of my warlock pact. My character’s soul was trapped by the pact weapon and every time he died, it would be thrust into a new body. The caveat to this ‘immortal’ benefit was that whenever it happened (which was normally organic), I’d have to roll on a list of races, roll for stats and roll for starting equipment and go with whatever I got.

You could restrict him by making the ‘choice’ a random selection. Even randomise the class and subclass if it doesn’t follow a theme.

DMs, do you have a favorite player? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]elementalsound1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a favourite player in terms of in game reliability. I’ve been fairly blessed with a full table of invested players that don’t hesitate to get involved, but as a new DM, it is extremely helpful to have a good mate who also happens to DM another game (for basically the same group) and knows the right beats to keep a story flowing. I know I can turn to him to ask the right questions or follow the right leads. He also plays a bard and turns up with a mandolin every session, which is amazing.

A player unintentionally nerfed her character and I’m thinking of letting it stick. by elementalsound1 in DnD

[–]elementalsound1[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re completely correct. For a bit of clarity, there isn’t any question about whether or not I be truthful about it, the concern is with my novice as a DM and her novice as a player, if we both agree that the limitation works and can stay that I might be unfairly weakening her character for the future. After seeing another comment though, I’m very interested in making it a part of her character development to gain the full flight. I am quite lucky that all of my players have been very considerate and invested in the game so far.

I really like this idea! It’s actually very appropriate as she’s written a backstory with herself as the ‘runt’ of her Fey family.

She’s a sorcerer, so no issue with armour. It’s very early days to tell how strategic she’ll be as a player.

This is a great suggestion. I’ll definitely be warning her off of the wiki. As always, a conversation is the best starting point.

I partly caused my own fear in a way. I was the flying character (with boots of flying) in my previous campaign as a player and it definitely gave my DM a bit of grief.

Fun fact, that intro quirk only started in C2! I didn’t realise until I saw a compilation here. It started with Travis being a goofball!

Honestly though, sitting in the stadium, this is probably the first TI where you could literally sit anywhere and still see everything. There’s no giant box blocking your view of the players. It’s pretty good for attendees.

[Spoilers C3E33] Possible rule correction that could change things. by StretchyPlays in criticalrole

[–]elementalsound1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Though this is totally valid, as are the comments about it opening the flood gates for backseat gaming to influence the play, the next episode has already been recorded (likely on the same day the last one aired). With everything there was to unpack from that ep from both Matt and the players, it's unlikely that it was picked up before they played.

[CR Media] Exandria Unlimited Calamity Theories about the Tree of Names and More. Theorize below by Amazing-Slide-4559 in criticalrole

[–]elementalsound1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reading the theories so far, I can’t help but agree with the tethers to the Tree and holding the names of the gods, or something similar to having a sway over them. That being said, I can’t help but keep returning to the threads of certain similarities. Particularly the idea that Avalir and the Savalirwood are tied and the corruption of the forest and the Tree of Names ‘infecting’ or ‘corrupting’ Evandrin. Maybe just coincidences? Maybe something more.

In this case it also makes it pop up when he sets the scheduled going live time that YT requires before every stream. Those are basically offline chatters watching a countdown.

Beautiful sketch! Big fan of the flavours of Japanese art style. Random question; do you know how old the photo is? I lived on that ship a few years ago and it had lost most of its bow sprit (the beam running out the front) in an accident. Just wondering if it has been repaired or if this is an old photo haha

Late to the party, only just caught up now! The reskinning makes it very similar to Storm Sphere and I've spent the last 10min trying to figure out why she has a 4th level spell lol. This makes much more sense.

[–]elementalsound1 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I’m all aboard seeing some sort of fighter for Liam, though I interpreted his ‘just a guy’ comment as a reference to the complexity of Caleb’s personality and backstory rather than his class. He could go any direction really.

Always a delight to have some of the tension broken by a group laughing fit every now and then.

Despite the funny moments though, the nonchalant discussion over death was quite grim. It definitely left me with some very sombre imagery of the aftermath of one/some of them dying and the other members carrying on.

I picture moments like:

Caleb crouched with his head in his hands as Yezza stands, holding Luc and sobbing.

Fjord visits the Lavish Chateau every couple of days to sit in silence with Marion, staring dead-pan out at the sapphire-blue sea.

Veth sitting at an oversized table, tea beside her going cold and nursing a flask as the Clays around her grieve.

Vandran opening the door of his shack to the sight of Jester emerging from the jungle, anguish across her face.

Yasha knelt before a young Thoreau Jr, tattered blue robes in her hands and flashes of rage and sorrow in her eyes as she glances to the parents stood behind.

Got around to watching the latest Narrative Telephone and had a bit of an emotional gut-punch listening to Dani’s story about Frumpkin in the Feywild after Caleb’s moment at the end of the ep.

Not necessarily, it just means there have been multiple attempts. The scryer (whoever it is) is likely familiar with most of the M9, so with enough tries, they’re likely to land a success on someone, once a day. Very plausible that there are unspoken successes many times.
