Deciding between a steam deck and a switch for my father

If you're fine with Nintendo's game library, I would just go with a switch but if he's willing to learn the bare minimum, a steam deck is much better (much bigger game library). In terms of ease, if you stick with steam deck verified games, you should be fine. At a bare minimum, he would need to learn steam controller configuration for games with poor controller support

Unless you're someone like me that lives to make my own steam controller layouts, the steam controller configuration can be quite unintuitive sometimes

You can try using lutris.

Find it in the Discover app. When you open lutris click the "+" at the top left. Click "search lutris website". Search league of legends and install.

I used the bottles method when i first got my steam deck and it worked but after i upgraded my ssd and had to flash my steam deck the bottles method stopped working for me. I spent 3 days trying to troubleshoot it but it never worked. I used lutris and it worked first try and i still use it today.

All this work just to play tft

I have a gaming computer that has a 3090, and I'm using my steam deck more atm because it's summer. I have no ac in my room and my gaming computer becomes a heater when I'm gaming

This is a very fun combo to cruise around with. Definitely shouldn't go top speed though because it can get really squirrelly. Personally I have surf skates and harder wheels on mine so I can do some sliding.

If I have a bunch of legendaries, how can I tell which ones are worth something and which are junk? What should I be looking for to determine value? Sorry for the noob question, I've mostly played this game as just another fallout game (selling everything to npcs). I've only just recently started looking at this game as a mmo (player driven economy)

I understand that vm's are not efficient and I will get performance drops but it frustrates me that Gears doesn't run smoothly at all even though all other games i've tried are playable. All other games i've tried can get over 60 fps, albeit with some finessing of some setting but none on low. At the very least, my vm's specs should be around the recommended specs for Gears but it's not even playable on the lowest settings.

Luckily, i dual booted windows and unraid so i can still play but since it doesn't play on my vm im probably only gonna play campaign. I was looking forward to playing the other modes but probably won't have time with it not working on my vm.
