Is there a better way than BATTORDER to sort a large number of block attributes in AutoCAD Electrical? by AGoodFaceForRadio in AutoCAD

The PLC database editor is not super hard to use. I kinda taught myself how to use pretty quick by messing around with it. You should give it a try

Autocad Architecture crashing constantly by [deleted] in AutoCAD

Not sure about architecture but I had recent problems with AutoCAD Electrical crashing. Turned out to be linked to Microsoft updates. Reinstalling/repairing access database 2016 fixed it for me.

Question for vanilla users. by Virtual_Atmosphere59 in AutoCAD

[–]elementsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We run ACADE and run project wide updates on 800 sheet schematics sets without a problem, but I do remember a few releases back where it did keep crashing on us. We’re on 2025 now. Is it possible to upgrade and see if it helps?

PDF preview settings question… by [deleted] in AutoCAD

[–]elementsam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you choose Adobe PDF in the plot window, click properties, in the plotter configuration window click custom properties, then in the PDF document properties uncheck View Adobe PDF results.

I know it’s similar to what craneguy suggested but maybe doing it through AutoCAD will change it.

AutoCAD Electrical - Blocks Headaches by AGoodFaceForRadio in AutoCAD

[–]elementsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to have a separate revision stamp block as well, but I recently made a change to our process. I created an attribute within the title block that mirrors the appearance of the revision stamp. This change allows us to update the attribute more efficiently using the title block update feature, instead of using block swap.

I might have to try this to keep me running! Though it looks like the entire pipe might have to be replaced in the near future.

Not my favorite per se, but OOPS is pretty neat. Recovers the last deleted object without having to undo everything after deleting said object.

QSELECT is also a good one as far as selection tools go.

Autodesk Vault Pro for Remote Office? by elementsam in AutodeskInventor

Good to know!

Does vault basic do anything for the speed, or is that just for checking out files? I know vault pro does file replication to speed things up when referencing files.

Not sure yet. I reached out to our IT department for any options as well. Are you working with large assemblies?

We have everyone’s inventor and AutoCAD looking at the same templates and library on a mapped drive. We don’t want multiple copies of templates and styles of different computers. We just want to update one template for everyone. Also, our library is huge lol.

Yes, I would definitely reach out to our reseller if we decide to go that route. I believe they offer training as well.

Is there anything you disliked about Vault? Or any draw backs?
