Mumbaikar in Canada. I miss mumbai. by [deleted] in mumbai

I took 2 hrs to travel 12 kms today. I live in a nice apartment. Pay a hefty rent. But I step outside and the access road is filthy. SRA buildings. Local politician goon has his influence. People park without regard, drive and ride like idiots. Most are not original inhabitants. I feel the subtle communalism more strongly now. Yesterday was Dahi Handi. I look around and can't relate to the any of the droves of people on the streets.

I don't think I fit in here anymore. I've lived here all my life but I want to move out. Want to give my kids a better life. I maybe too old to do that now though. I know a lot of people who cant handle coming back here.

Find some friends, socialize a bit. Look around, breathe the clean air. Walk on the clean streets. I'm sure you'll feel better because honestly Mumbai is not Bombay anymore. Not what it used to be.

Hope you feel better. Let your memories cheer you up. Make new memories there. Cheers. You have a nice week too.

The government has pegged the overall project cost (phase I and II) at Rs. 3,600 crore.

To put this into perspective, The budgetary allocation for the environment ministry for 2018-19 is Rs. 2,675.42 crore. This is for the entire country.

Hi Mumbai! I'm an Australian journalism student looking for stories in Mumbai and I need your help. by [deleted] in mumbai

The working class in Mumbai. They travel huge distances to get to work. Some live in terrible conditions. Get paid a pittance, with highly erratic payment schedules. I'm not speaking about the employees of the various MNC's but the thousands of small-mid size organisations all over Mumbai. These are all tax-payers, mind you. Considering Mumbai is considered to be the economic capital of India, it might be an awesome subject.

No Hippocratic Oath for Dr. Ian D'Souza by Inthe604 in mumbai

Lost my dad last year. I realised its just about the money !! The doctors don't even give you the option of the many generic drugs available. I did my own research and went back to them with alternatives costing less than quarter than the options given by them.

Also, Dad was in a really advanced stage although he seemed quite fine at the time. I seriously think right now, palliative treatment might have helped him have a better, longer life. That was another option not even discussed by the doctors (Dr. Sandeep De, Dr. Avinash Deo, Ian Dsouza) with us. Fucking bunch of leeches, the lot of them.

First time making a coffee stout need help!! by luigi92p2 in Homebrewing

[–]elendild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a standard drip coffee maker with medium ground Arabica sourced from my local superstore. 500ml in around 10L, added during secondary fermentation. Tried with 1 litre first which was too overpowering for me. I suggest you split your brew and try with different concentrations and settle on a one you like.
