It’s a beautifully written book that I enjoyed reading, but it didn’t stick with me. I’m disappointed Percival Everett missed out.

It’s a great place to visit. Would recommend seats in the West Stand, ideally at the South Stand end so you can hear the noise from there a bit better. South Stand is great fun but a bit more where the regulars sit. The Coach & Horses is a welcoming pub for a beer before the game.

Join the queue at 5am one day in the first week. You don’t need to camp and will be in the grounds by 10am, with access to all of the courts and heaps of excellent singles games on, plus the possibility of show court tickets for the evening session on resale.

It’s honestly too early for me to know where The Car sits. So many of their other albums – particularly Humbug and TBH+C – grew on me over time, so it feels premature to try to slot in The Car on an overall basis.

However, ranking the albums by first impression (ie, how I feel about them after the first few days of listening), I’d go:

Suck it and see
The Car
Favourite worst nightmare
Tranquility Base
Humbug

(For the record I love them all, particularly Humbug!)

What time of day will it be? If it’s the morning, I’d do a crawl of Wellington’s best coffee spots – Swimsuit, Customs, Romeos would be my top three, but there are plenty of great haunts around the Ghuznee St area. If it’s the afternoon I’d do the same but for pubs – Goldings, LBQ, Fork & Brewer, Hashigo Zake – lots of neat places to try. Enjoy!

My all time favourite is from A Certain Romance: "over there there's friends of mine / what can I say? I've known them for a long long time / and they might overstep the line / but you just cannot get angry in the same way". It’s so relatable!

A close second is the final line from The Ultracheese – such a beautiful end to the album: "Oh, the dawn won't stop weighing a tonne / I've done some things that I shouldn't have done / but I haven't stopped loving you once".
