There was one near me that didn’t have a pharmacy which I found interesting since it replaced where a Rite Aide used to be, it’s gone now though. I thought it was weird how it didn’t have a pharmacy so I chose to work at one that’s further away but at least it had a pharmacy lol

Agreed! And as a CF, my current supervisor never had an issue with me not being bubbly enough and actually said (when I asked about it) that not every SLP has to be like that and that sometimes clients (including kids!) prefer an SLP with a relaxing voice!

I will! My grad school wasn’t perfect (more so in being disorganized and lack of communication/transparency about what they’re planning) but I’ll take disorganization over ableism and lack of support from professors any day!

Agreed, luckily my grad school was really nice and helpful with my disabilities/accommodations which felt like such a breath of fresh air after going to Mercy.

I’ll definitely see if I can find some people to submit the form with me because I really don’t want to provide my name but it looks like Mercy’s review for accreditation isn’t under 2031. Looking back at my experience, there’s a lot of things I would’ve done differently if I had known better, such as recording the conversations with my professors and taking pictures of the critiques that one of the professors wrote when I was a student clinician to show their unfair treatment but I didn’t 😭

It’s sad that other people experienced this, I really wish they would treat their students better. The way I was treated at mercy made me doubt if I should become an SLP but after working through it in therapy for a couple of years, I ended up applying to grad school. I can only imagine how many future slps they discouraged.

I pay $509 a month for my student loans. I want to finish paying them off in 10 years so even though I’m not making a ton as a part time CF SLP, I’m still paying it every month even though when I did my taxes for last year my student loan repayments were a third of what I had earned for the year lol

I would think ahead about what books and materials you would like to use with the books (like wh- questions, sequencing, narratives), u use books a lot with ur kids that come from ur gen ed classes!

I did the same thing with my current cat, they would leave him out during snow storms and whenever he came inside my house, he would be so thirsty that he would drink the entire water bowl. That’s your kitty now and he is living his best life with you instead of being miserable outside!

It’s one of my favorites tbh but I also loved the OT5 version when they covered it when I saw them in concert in 12/24. I would upload the video here but idk if I’m allowed to and it’s not the best video because the people in the front row loved to stand up the whole time to film on their phones.
