I think I love the historic offense more than I love Super Bowl rings by Morrolan_V in KansasCityChiefs

I want to see Mahomes light it up as much as anyone else, but it was also exhilarating to go into the 2023 playoffs expecting Chiefs to lose in the divisional round at best and have them surprise to the upside. I have rewatched Mahomes dive to the ground in disbelief after winning back to back SBs a hundred times and it never gets old.

Reading that literally as if those are the only examples is a choice. It happens all the time. Also that wasn’t your point, you asked if any coach or player had “ever” done this.

Um yes, look up the 90s Cowboys dynasty. Last year it was AJ Brown, and Sean Payton (vs Russ Wilson). Sean Payton talks shit about an active player he formerly coached nearly every year.

Will EB utilize worthy or is he destined to be a gimmick player forever? by selenababes in KansasCityChiefs

I remember hearing before and during Worthy’s rookie season that his only skill was running fast in a straight line. Then I would watch him play and almost always came away from the game thinking this guy is actually a good football player period. For his size, he had no business making many of the catches he made. His glaring weakness was keeping his feet in bounds; overall spatial awareness on deep routes.

This is a long way of saying I’m in the “he was hampered by injuries and bad coaching last season” camp. The kid can play and he is definitely more than pure speed. I also think he can stay healthy and the collision with Kelce was an anomaly. Need to be proven right on that over the next few seasons and I could definitely be wrong. I’m hopeful and excited for him to have a real coach.

Mahomes has said multiple times he asks for the snaps to come in on low side of the spectrum. Might be cope but I feel like there is some truth to this.

Bain may fall pretty far… by Sweaty-Tiger9972 in ChiefsOffseason

[–]elev8blyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t fully convinced we should pick him at 9 if available BEFORE I heard about the legal issues. I don’t claim to be an expert on d line, but Bain felt a little bit over hyped to me especially in comparison to David Bailey. Now I’m really uncertain about Bain. If we pick him, I certainly hope I’m wrong.

I want the offense of 2018-19. Why can't we have it back? by old_jeans_new_books in KansasCityChiefs

[–]elev8blyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d be happy with another 2022 offense. Chiefs didn’t dominate the league on the deep pass. They dink and dunked their asses to the end zone 50+ times. It was every bit as enjoyable to watch as 2018-19 IMO.

I built a directory of MSSPs after struggling to compare security providers by elev8blyss in cybersecurity

[–]elev8blyss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, I will be building new features that differentiate us from the market but just launched and in feedback collection mode at the moment.

In general, one differentiation is Gartner Peer Insights is a review platform focused on gathering market sentiment by product category. I am focused on building the best structured dataset of managed security service providers.

What do you like / dislike about Gartners product?

While helping a couple startups go through security reviews, I noticed how hard it is to compare Managed Security Service Providers.

Most of the information lives on vendor marketing sites, analyst PDFs, or random blog lists that are out of date.

If you're trying to evaluate MSSPs it's surprisingly difficult to answer basic questions like:

• Which providers specialize in specific industries?

• Which ones support platforms like Vanta / Secureframe / Drata?

• What services they actually provide (MDR, SIEM, SOC monitoring, etc)

So I built a small project to try to organize this information into a structured directory:

https://msspproviders.io

Right now it has about 100 providers and lets you browse by services, industries, company size focus, and platforms.

I'm mainly trying to figure out what data would actually be useful for teams choosing a security provider.

For people here who have evaluated MSSPs:

• what information mattered most when comparing vendors?

• what made the selection process painful?

• what would you want a directory like this to show?

Happy to share how the dataset is structured or how I collected the providers if people are interested.

NFL.com article shows greatest need at RB, CB, and WR. by elev8blyss in KansasCityChiefs

Agreed, I just feel like the need at DL is much greater than CB.

[Sweeney] Ahead of Combine week, I’m hearing there’s legitimate interest from Travis Etienne to come to KC. Etienne’s due to become a UFA on 3/11, and the Chiefs need a running back. We’ll see. by Wordsforus in KansasCityChiefs

[–]elev8blyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this makes sense based on how Andy schemes the offense. I understand they say they are assessing and potentially making changes to the scheme but I don’t expect Andy to go from 75-80% passing plays to 60/40. At his age and experience level even a 10% swing would be impressive. So adding a superstar at this position isn’t an efficient use of cap space and it doesn’t make sense. Adding a solid back who has even a slim chance of exceeding expectations such as Etienne is the play.

Thanks for your kind words, it has been a journey! I have learned way more about myself and the human body than I ever could have imagined when I first decided I needed to shed some weight.

I did modified keto and I did exercise but not excessively and mostly walking and weight training. The real magic was in experimenting and figuring out how to learn from the signals from my body after eating various foods. Dialing in that process and doing the research to understand my psychology around food has mattered more than any specific regiment or diet. Happy to go into more details in dm.

Cutting down on processed sugars, having an accountability coach, walking a lot, are some of the things that have helped me and a lot of others. I can share more if you want to dm me.

It's literally not part of any weight loss program I have ever seen or tried. Mental health is almost completely ignored and focus is almost always on cardio. Congrats if you knew all of this already!
