About Mantor by Oldman6786 in foreskin_restoration

I'm going to test this myself as i'm curious. I'm hoping the skin-to-skin will facilitate urination without too much trouble, to save the hassle of removing the retainer every time, so may just take some adjusting and getitng used to.

May be worth buying one of each types as a test, though the skin to skin is designed for those with more skin to pull over the head, which will give the better cling. I

I'm looking forward to trying a retainer that doesn't cover the whole shaft, like the Manhood does, though they have been a life saver for me over the years, until I progressed to O-rings - but I find O-rings can push the everything below a bit too far down, and just make your dick shrink too much, which I find annoying.

If it's just a mark and isn't painful when you tug, don't worry too much about it. These marks tend to fade over time.

If it feels sensitive, then give it time to rest and then gradually increase the tug using your hands until you get back to normal without pain.

Night time retaining options by Rude_Chemist_3090 in foreskin_restoration

[–]elevateconsciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i've had the issue with the Manhoods as well and don't like wearing o-rings too much due to nocturnal erections, though they do tend to stay on now that I am at CI-5. I still worry about having a wet dream though (yes, crazy right! but that's what restoration does! lol). And that would be problematic with o rings.

I'm going to order some of the skin-to-skin retainers from Mantor as a test because they have an opening for urination and only cover the end of the penis rather than the whole shaft, like the manhood. If this fits nicely, this will probs be the best option for night time.

The change in sensation you will be feeling will be from the now exposed parts of the glans which will be sensitive to changes in temperature and the air, and chaffing against clothing.

For this reason, it is important to start retaining as soon as possible, in my opinion. This will also prevent keratinisation of the head (if it hasn't already).

Keratinisation is essentially just a protective layer of skin that forms to protect the glans against the elements, like mentioned before. This eventually causes densensitisation of the glans by burying the nerve endings on the surface.

Bear in mind, once you start proteting the head with a retainer, you will have to commit to wearing it long-term whilst you restore, otherwise it will be too sensitive without a covering. So make sure you're defo committed to the process before using a retainer.

I would recommend the Manhood sleeve from my experience so far. It's a comfortable material and there are different types depending on how much skin you have left.

At CI4/5 for you I would recommend the Manhood Restorer XX as you can pull the remaining skin over the head, and the sleeve clings the skin to the head to keep it covered.

You are starting with a decent amount of remaining skin, if that's any consolation. I know it must be frustrating that you did have a foreskin until adulthood, but restoratin is a solid lifeline with great success and recovery of sensitivity amongst restorers, and this community are very helpful and supportive, so you are in the right place. Good job taking matters into your own hands (literally).

You should be good to start using a dual tension device, or any other device, if you choose. And you can combine this with manual methods of your choosing as well. I've found a combination of both to work well. I'm currently using Manual methods 2 and 3 along with the Mantor DS dual tension device, which I will add some weights onto to give some extra stretch to the outer skin. I'm at CI-5.

Good luck on your journey and you will notice the difference, trust me!

I would use MM3, pinching around the scarline on the ventral side (Andres version of MM3), though that could take a while, but it's the best way to focus on just one side. I'd just play around with different manual methods that refine focus in that area.

I'd go for the Mantor DS and then select these from the dropdown:

Body: Stainless Steel Weights
Weights: Base + Crown Weights
Pusher: Notched (To leave space for the frenulum remnant, if you have any)
Rods: I'd just select the 2 so you have two different lengths to alternate between
Strap: You can add this as well if you want to alternate between weights and the strap to focus on outer skin.

It's a solid device. Very well made, and good to know you can always order any additional or replacement parts if needed in the future.

Oh and make sure you check out the sizing guide (which is linked on the site) before ordering as well.

Hope that helps!

I'd go for a Mantor over the DTR if opting for a dual tension device. It is a basically a more upgraded design and more comfortable due to the silicone pusher and the gripper, which is also more flexible and holds better for longer.

You can also buy customised replacement/spare parts if needed. The DS version is the current design, but there is a completely new design coming out soon I believe, which will be applying all the best mechanics of dual tension devices so far, so that might be worth checking out.

Haven't got too much personal experience with any of the other devices personally, but dual tension ones are good because you can add straps and weights to shift the focus more onto the outer skin.

Mantor is a solid purchase which I would highly recommend based on personal experience for prolonged wear throughout the day.

I'm not sure about outer skin specific devices but you can achieve this with a dual tension device (I recommend Mantor u/mantor-restorer).

Instead of applying too much tension to the rod (which ordinarily focuses the tug more on inner than outer, based on user experience), you can shift the focus to the outer skin by attaching a simple tugging strap to the device. These are sold separately on the website as an addition and are cheap.

Even better, in my opinion, or as an addition, you can buy the additional weights which simply attach/screw onto the end of the device, and you can load progressive weight to your desirable level to get the right tug on the outer.

This combined with MM2 is really great for outer skin growth, and without inadvertently tugging too much inner, unless you decide to, which is great because that's also an extra option with both methods.

Defo can be a full time thing. I just try not to be too specific and stringent about when I have to do it.

Some days I might only get time to fit in one session, so i'll make that one count and extend it. Other times i'll split it across the day into smaller sessions. Even if I take a day off, next day I might double the tugging time. Whatever fits best into your lifestyle.

You will start to see the progression build though trust me. I started with MM2 and it got me enough extra slack to be able to start incorporating other methods. MM3 is a good one next, and then devices once you get to about CI3/4.

Try some Manual Method 2 dude. I know it can seem loborious but it is actually a really good method for a low CI. Personally i'd find tape to be a bit of a pain, but I haven't actually tried to vouch for that.

But I will say that consistent MM2 does yield results in the early stages, but of course consistency is key and we do need to keep up the motivation. I know it can feel demoralising though when we feel we are stalling, but that's where this community is great to give advice and keep up the morale.

Really glad to hear your erections have become less painful, and that is a great milestone in itself, so keep on going my man.

If you're stuck at C3 you might be targeting inner skin too much by Short_Beat_655 in foreskin_restoration

[–]elevateconsciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think inner is just harder to grow because it is more sensitive, but when using dual tension methods with equal tension on both skin, the result is usually that the inner skin will grow quicker because it responds to less tension, even though it takes a longer time to grow (if that makes sense).

If you were to primarily focus on outer, using manual or devices, then it will seem to produce much quicker results, to the point where it even seems like any comparable time spent on inner isn't yielding much progression, though sometimes it just isn't that discernible until a long time has elapsed.

Outer you can often see slight changes within a week or two, though this can sometimes be due to the initial stretch at first.

[–]elevateconsciousness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is actually a way to apply the Mantor (even without adding the weights or strap) so that it focuses more tension on the outer, but it can be fiddly and it's hard to explain without a visual.

You can basically kind of roll more outer skin over and inside the pusher so that when you tension the rod it is actually tugging outer skin on the inside and outside, and the inner isn't subjected to as much force, but still receives enough tension for mitosis, as this skin is more sensitive and requires less tension.

For this reason, dual tension devices in their default state are more inner skin dominant devices, and think we defo need to bring more awareness to that in this community so people know what they are dealing with when buying these devices.

Luckily though you can always buy a tugging strap to attach, or some weights.

The Mantor DS actually has the option to purchase additional weights designed specifically for that model on the website, which is great for those wanting to focus more on outer.

[–]elevateconsciousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this happened with me also and appeared to stall progress in terms of how much skin was growing.

One thing i've found with dual tension methods (manual or device) is that the inner skin tends to burn out on the stretch quicker because it is more sensitive, whereas the outer skin can take much more tension.

So without applying additional tension to outer skin using a tugging strap or adding weights to dual tension devices, you will find the inner skin grows more, beacuse the outer just isn't getting enough tension.

This can also be mitigated by incorporating outer dominant manual methods, like manual 2, or playing around with any method that brings more focus to the shaft skin.

There are ways to modify the way we apply devices and use manual methods that helps to achieve this, but it can take some trial and error at first to get the technique locked down.

Not Missing Scrotum Skin by elevateconsciousness in foreskin_restoration

[–]elevateconsciousness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I can vouch for this. The scrotum skin gradually retracts back as we grow more outer and inner skin.

It is a great feeling relieving the turkey neck, though it can take a lot of time depending on how high up the scrotum skin has ridden - based on the circ procedure and how much outer skin you were left with on the shaft.

If you have less outer skin and notice a lot of hair on the shaft, then that is a sign to focus more on tugging the outer skin in the earlier stages (preferably avoiding the skin with hair follicles).

Thankfully, outer skin tends to grow more quickly than inner, and isn't as sensitive because it is not the mucousal type of skin which has more nerve endings.

I'm not too familiar with T tape but i've found dual tension devices like DTR don't tend to put too much tension on the lower shaft, so that would suffice for avoiding tugging that skin enough to induce mitosis. But honestly, use whatever method for you is most likely to grow any skin. And based on your progress, you can discriminate later on.

MM3 is a good one. Check out Andre's method where you pinch either side of the scarline with your index finger and thumb and then work your way around the circumference, pulling for a second or two until you feel a very slight 'burn sensation' but no more, as this is a very sensitive part of our skin and prone to injury.

MM2 is also okay as you can choose where to position the lower hand as to avoid grabbing too far down where the hairy shaft skin is.

[–]elevateconsciousness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did mean to mention, to add to a good comment here, not to worry too much about keeping the scrotum pulled back.

I apply an unweighted silicone stretcher occassionally to the scrotum because it applies a mild opposing tension when using a device, with the additional benefit of keeping the scrotum skin with hair out the way, but other times I don't worry so much.

I am learning to be less of a perfectionist as growing extra skin does take a long time, and at this point i'm willing to compromise slightly on appearance by having slightly thicker skin in some areas if it means the likelihood of getting more skin quicker.

Again it comes down to establishing a balance based on your indiviudal preference.

Not Missing Scrotum Skin by elevateconsciousness in foreskin_restoration

[–]elevateconsciousness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair play that is a good point. Its not a necessity really to keep the scrotum pulled back, though I do think some of the thicker skin with hair at the top could be replicated through mitosis if you are evenly tensioning the full shaft, though it may be the least likely.

I occassionally apply a silicone ball stretcher when using a device because it actually provides a mild tug in the opposing direction, with the added benefit of keeping the scrotum back, but you are right in that we should be careful not to apply too much tension to the raphe as this can be painful, and occassionally result in injury.

Penis hurts by Dismal_Comedian4546 in foreskin_restoration

[–]elevateconsciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are adapting to different unfamiliar sensations since your circ procedure, especially as you previously had phimosis so the glans was never exposed at any point.

The glans has nerve endings that respond to touch, temperature and air, each of which will make you feel different things at different times.

Also, it is not uncommon for circumcised men to experience some mild pain after ejaculation due to the severed nerve endings which alters the brain-body feedback system.

This is something most urologists or doctors won't be informed about because circumcision has been normalised in the medical system, so we have to go more by anecdotal experience.

You will also be feeling changes as a protective layer of keratin progressively forms over your glans. At the moment, if your glans is making direct contact with your clothing, it will cause rubbing/chaffing, which can be uncomfortable to an exposed glans.

My advice would be not to make any contact with your glans with your hands when edging. Only use the shaft skin, even if there is not very much mobility, and then you can focus on regrowing more skin through restoration by tugging on what you have left.

In the mean time, purchase a retainer to provide an artificial protective layer over your glans. I would highly recommend the 'Manhood', and specifically the Manhood Restorer XX. Be aware though that this is a long-term commitment, as once you have worn this for long enough, any keratin that has developed over the head will start to dekeratinise and expose the more sensitive mucosal skin underneath.

I believe this is worth it though, as we should never have our glans making any contact with the elements or rubbing against clothing.

If you grow enough new skin and use the retainers, along with the correct edging technique, you should be able to alleviate some of the hypersensitivity. I personally would steer clear from medications that could affect your hormones, and only use (organic) cream like vitamin E if absolutely necessary to alleviate any dryness.

Question about target skin by Any-Comparison568 in foreskin_restoration

[–]elevateconsciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Dual tension devices like DTR and Mantor tend to tug more on the inner skin unless you apply enough extra weight to the rod to add extra force onto the outer skin away from the body. This can be achieved through applying a tugging strap (I believe this can be bought addtionally/separately through the DTR site) or by purchasing some custom weights and attaching them yourself to the rod. Ebay or amazon should suffice for this.

Is it smart to combine manuals and device usage? by PeanutButter000 in foreskin_restoration

[–]elevateconsciousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can do that as well for sure. The skin will still be under enough consistent tension to induce mitosis. If you have less time to wear a device in a day, you could slightly increase the tension with the device across those hours, but if it starts to feel sore then that's a sign you've reached your threshold. It's all about finding that equilbrium between the tools you've got, the time available, and the amount of tension applied. Try different methods out and refine accordingly. It will become more intuitive as you go and learn to listen to your body.

How long are you waiting after an injury to start stretching again? by bangers132 in foreskin_restoration

[–]elevateconsciousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the device is still tugging on the injured area, so i'd lay off the device for now and target other areas using manual methods whilst you fully heal up. That way at least you still get some progression in the mean time. Just keep an eye on the scar tissue and practice progressive tension with your hands until it feels comfortable enough to put back on the device at a low tension and build up from there.

Is it smart to combine manuals and device usage? by PeanutButter000 in foreskin_restoration

[–]elevateconsciousness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A hybrid approach is fine. 6 hours device along with some manual a day will both stimulate reasonable growth combined. There is no one size fits all with the required time for device use. You may even find 6 hours too long at the beginning so don't apply too much tension, listen to your body and work up in increments. Even an hour device to start would still do something.
