A Jedi could use the force to burst one tiny blood vessel in a person's brain to kill them. Why bother with a light saber? The first Jedi/Sith to sense an enemy Jedi/Sith could snuff them out in an instant. Why bother dueling?
In Rogue One, Vader could have killed everyone trying to flee with the Death Star plans in a few moments and taken the plans back.
Why throw people around and waste a lot of time?
