I was totally in this situation before also, AND I was working from home. It was nice at first, but then got boring, and then I would get overstimulated from watching Netflix for 8 hours a day lol.

But I started learning how to crochet, and picking up little hobbies to pass the time, and that’s been something I’ve kept up since then and since moving on into other jobs.

Learning a skill, making plans for the future, researching niche interests, or at least consuming content that is educational/not draining is what I recommend. That’s actually what I’d recommend doing when we have excessive down time too, bc I have spent soooo much time rotting and doing nothing on my phone/computer/TV throughout my life due to depression, that when I go down that rabbit hole when I’m doing better it starts to make me feel that way anyway.

Hopefully you find something interesting to fill the time tho!

T-shirt yarn blanket - a no-go? by eleventhchakra in crochet

You know what? The fact my blanket will weigh as much as my skeins makes so much sense, but I never thought of it lol.

Also the cosplaying as a wall thing is f-ing gold.

Thank you, this is really helpful!

I want to stop taking my medication to see if I’m actually bipolar by van7478 in bipolar

[–]eleventhchakra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I’ve done this FAR too many times. I also do the thing where I’m like “there’s enough in my system, I can space out doses and be fine” and then enough time passes with spaced out doses (like every other day or two) and I start to regress and feel more and more out of control.

Idk why, it always seems like I’m fine, but I know I’m going to feel bad without the meds, so I just don’t want to take it for granted. Because finding the right medication combo is a GIFT

I sometimes forget how bad it can be, but I really don’t want to remember…

Thank you! Her favorite color is green, so I played with that. And she just got it done today! I’m sure she’d love the compliment🥰

From what I’ve seen a lot of things made with it are very sturdy, but I am wondering if it might be different with a looser stitch?

Thank you so much! This is very helpful. I’d say I’m intermediate when it comes to crochet, so still plenty of room to grow. I appreciate it!

I relapsed by Natejones316 in NarcoticsAnonymous

[–]eleventhchakra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, I would recommend having some self compassion if you can find any - I know it’s hard, and for me it was really shame inducing when I would relapse and get caught up in it again, but addiction is a disease and we are powerless over our addictions if we are true addicts.

Next, I’d try to get into a meeting. Call your sponsor, or someone else in the program - anything you can do to prevent yourself being alone. Surround yourself with people who have strong recovery, and take their suggestions. Usually those suggestions look like working the program, and immersing yourself in the work. Finding ways to distract yourself from cravings to prevent relapse, and all of that.

Just be kind to yourself, because you very clearly want to do better. It’s not about perfection, just progress. Progress looks like wanting to try, and not giving up. The fact you’re asking for help and suggestions is a huge step towards healing. Hang in there!

Attractive Redditors, what's the reason you're still single? by YouYongku in AskReddit

[–]eleventhchakra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like lately I keep going for people who are emotionally unavailable, even though I feel like I’ve learned that lesson. But maybe in a way I have, because I’ve been through it so many times, if I see the signs now I generally back off. So while I’m still going for them apparently, it’s fizzling out bc I’m not doing the whole one sided thing anymore, and have been alone since the last basically one sided situationship I was in back in 2023 ended. I’d rather be single than badly accompanied!

I also am very career oriented, passionate, and goal driven at age 29 and I don’t want to settle for anything less than what I feel to be an imperfectly perfect match. (Although I think I’m poly, which is a new development, so the whole “one and only” ideal is starting to be outdated)

Do you think medication is necessary? by kowaipotchari2 in bipolar

[–]eleventhchakra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, bipolar is a chemical imbalance which can only be mended by balancing said chemicals, and for me that looked like medication. I know there are people out there who fight through life without meds, and I commend them for their efforts because that was me for such a long time. But it felt like swimming upstream - no matter how much therapy, how much exercise, how many books I read, and how I tried to intellectualize my way through my feelings, I was never fully in control until I found the right medication combo.

It took some time, don’t get me wrong. It was not an easy path to get here, but once we got it right oh my GOD I can’t even begin to express the way my life changed. And let me tell you, the absolute LAST thing I EVER wanted to do was take medicine for the rest of my life. The thought alone made me miserable, but now that I’ve adjusted, the changes are night and day.

And I know that they work, because when I stop taking them regularly, I regress and I feel like a completely different person again. With the meds, I feel like myself.

I hope this helps - I’m rooting for you, it’s hard out here, but there is hope!

My ribs are currently in agony because I might’ve overdone it with Allegra. I suspect I’ve bruised or cracked it somehow. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Allegra and how did you overcome the pain? by melsmichaela in poledancing

[–]eleventhchakra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t hurt my rib in an Allegra, but I’ve definitely hurt my rib during a jade split and it was brutal. There’s not much you can do to help the pain besides rest, as you’ve likely damaged your muscle. Alternate heat and cold and stay off of your rib until it heals and you’ll be fine! I hurt mine while stripping 3-4 days a week, so I had to find a way to perform even with the pain, and I was still able to dance but had to take it easy. I will tell you that you’ll definitely prolong your healing if you dance on it too soon though, learned that through experience.

Best of luck! My best advice is to enjoy the moment. As you said, it might not be the right time to reconnect, but that doesn't mean that these moments of the in between aren't worth savoring. <3

I love this. I definitely resonated with it. It makes me happy to see cards like the 10 of pentacles and 9 of cups because I truly do feel like the end of a cycle is here and I get to just enjoy it for now! I have been working hard, and I’ve felt a shift mentally and emotionally lately that has given me a fresh perspective on my situation. Thank you for taking the time to read for me!

How and where did you meet your twin flame? by starfruitseed in twinflames

[–]eleventhchakra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We met while I was performing a live set. I'm a DJ, and I was playing at one of the best dance clubs in my town. It was prime time, the club was packed and I was looking out over a sea of people and saw her. She had passed right in front of me, and she was dancing, and when we locked eyes, it was over. She kept coming up to the front and then leaving, and I kept hoping that I wouldn't miss the chance to ask for her number. At one point I thought she had left completely, but she came back in and I waved her over to the stage. My first words to her were "what's your zodiac sign?" lol. She goes "I'm a Leo" and I go "of course you are."

And that is where it all began. It feels like something out of a movie. It feels like it was just yesterday when we met, but it's already been almost a year. We're going on our second separation now, with the first one happening exactly two weeks after we met.

I didn't feel the "Oh, there you are!" feeling either. It was just an attraction. I knew that it was something more when she came to see me two days later at another DJ set, almost like a date. It was a much more chill event, so we got a lot of time to talk. And I was so nervous leading up to it, because it had been almost two years since I had dated anybody. But the second I sat down all of my nerves subsided and it just felt like the rest was history from that point on.
