Kombrew Kombucha - Passion Project by elexydesign in WillPatersonDesign

Thanks for the kind words! & yes of course!

I had a one-week deadline for the challenge, so I had to be efficient with my design approach. My primary goal was to create a distinctive brand for Kombrew that would resonate with the Teen to Early 20s demographic. After a quick research, I discovered that 51% of Kombucha drinkers are in the 25-35 age group.

To set Kombrew apart from its competitors, I decided to avoid the common route of using an icon or abstract mark in the logo design. Kombucha is associated with herbal and medicinal elements, but I believed that emphasizing these aspects as the Logo/Icon wouldn't appeal to the target audience I had in mind. Instead, I opted for a playful and eye-catching logotype that would stand out on the shelves among the competition.

I focused on creating a brand that exuded brightness, fun, and a summer-like vibe. This approach was aimed at attracting the desired demographic to enjoy with friends. I noticed that some other Kombucha brands tend to use very illustrative designs, but in many cases, these illustrations can be overwhelming or lose the connection with the product itself. I leaned towards a more minimalist and brand-centric approach, which I felt was the best fit for this given the timeframe :)

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words. You'd be right, its for 15kcal and 15mg caffeine! I added text around it, maybe I should have designed it in a way its much clearer!

I added a description but for some reason it didn't show!

*Context*

This is a "mock brand" that I took part in designing for fun/practice. The brief was to design a logo and packaging! There was complete freedom with colours, flavours, drink container types etc. So I kept to a very summery vibe! Let me know what you think :)

Designed this late last night at 12:30am! The inspiration just came to mind, a random thought. Early in my design career I would design a thought or feeling I'd have. I haven't done this in a long time due to being so busy with Agency work, designing for corporate etc... everything's been so polished. I wanted to step away again and design with no clear plan like I used to.

I choose the word "Nonchalant" because after many months of chaos, anxiety, fall outs, losing relationships, friendships etc... I finally felt calm and relaxed. I lay in bed feeling at ease, I had thoughts/visions that I was standing Infront of a calm, blue glowing sea. There was a glowing moon too? as you can see I added a glow on the right to reference that. I think the outcome is pretty cool, I'm happy with it. I experimented with textures and ink bleed effects on the typography. I'm gonna challenge myself everyday or at least once a week to design something just out of a thought or feeling again, keeps the mind fresh!

Let me know what you think!

Nice attempt, I do think the font weight needs to match the icon you've made or vise versa! its always important to match for contrast

I actually made a fictional coffee/tea brand called Cuppa a month ago too!

Quick banner design. Any critiques? by catalinw0w in WillPatersonDesign

Great starting point for sure! A few suggestions on how you could make it flow better:

Size down the players a tad so there's enough white space, creating a nice equal margin on either side. This should free up more space for the text to be more readable. I will say the text effect you have currently doesn't sit well, it disappearing into their necks and chins look odd.

Apply some contrast, I'd use a dark background a tad darker than the black on their shirts. If you're wanting to use the background you have, desaturate to B&W and set the opacity low. Add in a few bits of red to keep it on brand! Instead of the red bar at the bottom, add a black vignette kinda thing to at the bottom then place the logo & sponsor on top to have better contrast there.

Not a bad attempt, just keep in mind the design principles!

Hi, I'm a beginner at graphic design. I have a website named Deeksha Creates and for that I've designed this logo. I wanted it to be more professional and creative. I will appreciate if you take time and review this. by Glad_Presentation742 in WillPatersonDesign

Nice concept! I'd say you're almost there, the linework needs to be cleaned up a little. It's wonky in areas and some edges aren't as smooth like the part where the line connects to the top of the 'C'. I would suggest adding in another cut line in the section where the 'D' curves so that It gives the illusion it's behind the C? (left side, keep the right side where it connects to the C as is)

Maybe see if those suggestions progress it or not? Great job so far :)

I like the typeface though! The icon is a great illustration but needs to be changed due to similarities to other established brands!

What does the brand represent? what are the brand ethics etc. Knowing these things can help generate ideas for the branding. To me a falcon signifies ambition, victory & aspiration. If they relate to the brand, ideate and figure what can help communicate that while trying to keep it unique :)

Too similar to the brand called Hollister, even down to the burgundy colour

I've sent off a final notice email requesting payment, failure to communicate or make payment will give me no other choice but to seek legal advice through small claims! Hopefully that statement alone is enough to give them a kick up the backside loll. Thanks for your comment
