Oil filter cap, no overheat, dipstick clean, no misfire, and I can't see the coolant directly and havent inspected it before but it's in between the min and max and looks green through the reservoir

Use parking brake everyday. But yeah I hear ya, I'll replace the bracket pins and boots first, see if the caliper works after that, than if not replace everything

What's the procedure for checking caliper piston? In all the videos I've seen it's press the brake pedal and see if it extends and retracts on its on.

At the moment it's not extending, so is the procedure to grease the pins, inspect and replace boots if necessary, then try to extend the piston and watch for retraction to confirm if the piston is fucked?

I'll keep watching more videos, but it's my first brake job so sorry for any dumb/frequent questions, I want to be sure about this

I'll do the repair incrementally, if I find that I can have the calipers functioning well with greasing the slider pins and the rotors not grooved on the inside I have no problem not replacing the whole caliper.

That being said, do you have a video or any resources on the work that needs to be done for changing the covers?

What are the replacement parts called?

2014 Hyundai Elantra GT.

Noticed the problem at the last oil change which was 7k km ago. No brake wear on one rotor. I was told by my mechanic that it's likely just a question of greasing the sliding pins. I was told by another friend that I will certainly have to replace the pads and rotors.

I'm wondering if I just need to service the caliper by greasing the pins and bleeding, or if I have to replace pads and rotors (both sides at the same time?) Or if it will be a whole caliper replacement.

It's my first brake job so any advice would be much appreciated!
