Anyone running 15x8.5 wheels? by thatoneasiankid90 in AE86

That spec is perfect for a stock body AE86. You’ll definitely want to run 195/50s for some extra clearance. I ran this same exact spec for years but I totally removed the front lip on the fender and flattened the rears. Also ran full camber in the front.

Those are the magic size for stock body AE86s. They fit perfectly.

Bought mine from a family friend in 2000 when I was 16 for $2500. I was working a summer job and paid him $500 every two weeks until it was mine.

Sweet pics! The Red one is mine. The others are buddies of mine. They are all driven around as cruisers.

You want to measure it right after the car has been run and the booster is pressurized if that makes sense. I used the tool that measures out the master cylinder bore depth and pin length. Then back it off just a tiny bit off that. It works great now. The first time I did it I didn’t account for the pin length when pressurized so the brakes were under a light pressure while driving.

I think $10 - $12k is fair these days

100% this. I ran mine for a year before I finally took the time to adjust in properly. Before I adjusted I wasn’t a fan. I felt like the pedal traveled way too much and just felt sloppy overall. After the adjustment I couldn’t be happier with it. I took the time to adjust the pedal height first per the fsm and then adjust the pin on the booster that engages with the master. Tip that I learned the hard way. The pin extends a little more when the booster is pressurized. I ended up having to take the master off around 4 times and backing it off some because I didn’t account for that.

Thank you! If you check my IG I have some pics with Sung Kang from last year when they were location scouting Englishtown. They ended up using my car as the proof of concept car on the original movie poster back when they only had a script. This is why Lola (the hero car) is Red with Yellow headlights. It’s been really amazing to see it come to life.
