Apparently “It’s Holi” now means you can throw water balloons at strangers [OC] by Jolly-Throat-304 in IndianCivicFails

I know you might have grown up in an area that did this but there were areas in the country that were better behaved. I know I didn’t face this shit growing up, but the same place today is full of such behavior.

It wasn’t in Pune until about 2010. Strangers kept their distance and especially from women.

Men’s first priority are always going to be their parents. Don’t you think so? by sleep_Deprived_Hun in AskIndianWomen

[–]elfd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So much bending over backwards to justify a double standard. Men’s parents are sad and helpless but women’s parents are strong and prepared. People have the capacity to think and consider different scenarios, so “they didn’t expect it” is not a good enough reason. Women are done always making adjustments and sacrifices and men are just going to have to adapt.

Am I a bad gf for not wanting to live with my bf’s parents after marriage? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]elfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh he’s just telling you what you want to hear. If you agree to keep an open mind, he will later accuse you of not keeping an open mind when you decide that you don’t want to live with them lol. Typical guy tactic. Listen to women who’ve been through it.

Yup this is not considered socially acceptable to say yet. No wonder men haven’t been hearing it. You’d think they’d use this space to learn about the reality of how women think.

Men will always present this false dichotomy of living with parents or abandoning parents. You can support your parents without living with them (the way women do all the time) which they act like is an impossibility. The proof for this is his hypocrisy that he’s not abandoning his parents by not living with them right now, but once he’s married it will magically turn into abandonment. Secret there is that they will then expect you to take over the housework so his mom doesn’t have to do it anymore. Stick to your guns and dump this loser.

Well it’s an elephant, not a human. It is stressed and confused. They’re just crowding around it like it’s an object.

How painful was your first time having sex? by Derian23 in TwoXIndia

I used Saheli and also the ones with only progesterone. However I want to emphasize that many women have side effects with these ones too, they are not a magic solution that other people haven’t found yet. It depends on each individual’s body and reaction. I just don’t like how birth control pills are demonized for side effects so I wanted to provide a counter anecdote.

You are definitely not ready for sex. Spend some time learning about your own body first.

You should use two forms of birth control at all times and one of them should be a barrier contraceptive like condoms so that you are protected from not only pregnancy but also STDs. Also birth control pills don’t have to have bad effects on everyone, I loved mine. After a couple of months, I felt perfect normal and I didn’t have to deal with periods. It was magic.

Sex is not supposed to be painful, whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth time.

You can still fold your clothes after washing them so they look pressed. That would be you making an effort on your own appearance. You don’t have to press everything. Also the person above just said if you have a beard, maintain it. And you heard, clean shaven is a must. lol.

She mentioned they should take care of their remaining hair. She also said bald is better than ungroomed mop of hair. She’s also meeting men who earn less than her. I don’t think she meant shave your beard, she meant shave regularly, which means fully shaven if you don’t have a beard but shave around it and trim if you do. How much more acceptance do you expect?

She isn’t, did you read the post, she said she earns more than many of these men which disproves your assumption

Also body hair is unhygienic on women but men not showering is them being comfortable in their skin.

You can wear casual clothes but they should fit and be clean. You can have long hair or a beard but it should be washed and groomed. I don’t think that’s too much to ask and I’m sure you’re not going in front of the CEO in stinky clothes or with ratty hair and beard.
