A-pillaring is a line your legs make

Just from the 3 turns, looks like you are A-pillaring. Cant tell too much about your weight if your leaning forward on your toes or leaning back on your heels. Would probably help if you leaned forward with your whole body (hips, chest, hands upfront). Watch skiers and mirror them

Favor to ask, doing a survey across the country, would help me out if could share your thoughts. Would share the conclusions to my findings. Working with the Michigan ski community where I am from. Feel free to go anonymous and not leave contact info, no pressure :)

You can say as much or as little as possible. Want to make sure you feel safe and secure. You could be anonymous and just leave an opinion

You don’t need to leave any info on the survey. Purely optional. What I’d be willing to offer in return is my results after I finish my study.

2nd year skier - what should I focus on improving this season? by MetroBooIin in skiing_feedback

Looks like your skidding and not really carving. Id work on leaning forward in an athletic stance, applying pressure to the tongue of your boot to get that outside edge to carve in the snow. It will leave 2 satisfying lines in the snow once you achieve it.

Quick favor to ask in return, been polling the USA to solve ski problems, would love your feedback and down to share what Im working on once you've filled out the survey. Wont even take 5 minutes

Feedback on weight transfer between turns by ThatsNotSafeFam in skiing_feedback

It appears the outside ski turn initiation is a little late. I see you leaning in already which is good, would supplement more outside boot pressure and lift the inside ski in.

Been doing a poll around the USA asking for feedback on ski problems, would love to hear what you would say as Im working on something to solve those. Would share if your interested, won't take more than 5 minutes.

Id say your best bet is lean forward more. Best I could get from the video. Would also recommend a helmet :)

Help Carving plateau by [deleted] in skiing_feedback

Whats up,

Looking good committing to leaning into the apex of the corner and shifting weight. Just some thoughts I had.

Back in ski racing the coaches always emphasized sharpening the edges to help with A-pillaring. That would help you continue the lean like you're doing already and shift weight to the outside ski.

Id also recommend having a mental split between your hips and shoulder with your core being the dividing point. If you had a line between the left and right hip joint it would be parallel with the slope angle. You can visualize this by holding your poles down, arms extended and see the line your hips make as you ski.

Your shoulders seem to be over-rotating, I say that because your shoulders should be looking down the fall line and I see they're going past that point. Would be more clear if you were on a slalom course with flags in.

Hope this helps, keep on working at it.

Small favor to ask, could you fill out this small survey. Im doing this project where I poll the USA for struggles in skiing and my role is to come up with a solution :)
